Hey all, i was planning on going to the track Saturday (7/10 Yesterday) so i bought a camera (Sony Cybershot DSC-W350) so i could take good pictures and videos of my car going down the track. Well it was rained out so i took some pictures to attempt to make some HDR pictures of my car.
I really...
I noticed with my car, spraying the paint onto already moderately hot parts make the paint stick the best.
I sprayed the exhaust housing of the turbo while it was on the car expecting it to be rusted again within the week. Its still good a month or two later. When i sprayed it it was quite...
Bleeding a hydraulic clutch is just like bleeding brakes, theres a bleeder screw on the slave.
Push clutch pedal and crack open the bleeder, tighten the bleeder, release the pedal and repeat. Watch the level in the reservoir so that it does not run out.
Well i believe my phone is somewhat accurate. The 12.18 it spit out for my car was virtually verified when i lost by roughly 2 cars to a SRT8 Jeep Cherokee with a supercharger and a mild converter tonight who claims a 11.80 timeslip.
Overall im happy about the experience because as soon as i...
Hach: Thanks haha, Yea it was a fun experience. They are 28 inch tall and there a soft compound so it wasn't that bad. Hoping to go to the track on Saturday July 10th unless the supra meet gets rained out again. Ill find out then how well it estimates performance.
Villan: I want to, hopefully...
More resources are better then less. Not to mention some places are cheaper then others.
Id like to see where to buy these materials also if anyone has the site.
Can/Has it been? Yes, but i wouldn't recommend it. The MK3 Karman Vortex AFM can only measure volume or CFM. The placement of it should be before the turbo as before the turbo the only variables to the air are temperature other then barometric pressure with altitude. After the turbo the air can...
Completely unplug the ECT ECU. Its located in the passenger side kick panel (at least it is on my 89) and take the car for a drive.
You will have to manually shift the transmission, the pattern will be as follows.
L = 1st
2 = 3rd
D = OD
You should have no lockup also. If the problem goes away...
Well thats exactly what i mean, at 6500 The Torque is the same, though with stock cams it does seem to be tapering off when the 272's are consistent.
I think the problem with the comparison is that your not flowing enough air to take full advantage of the cams. The power peaks early and slowly...
Correct, temperature is the basic difference but velocity is more of a CFM (volume) type thing and will be roughly the same turbo to turbo. The key is Density (temperature)
I noticed that and when you look at both charts the difference is the peaks. The 272 cams have a lower peak torque then the stock cams. Otherwise the torque curves are almost the same. Should have made a pull at the same boost between the cars.
