    Fixing ACIS...

I did, to. :biglaugh: Same results. Removed vacuum line, and tied the valve closed this time. Cold, running up through first at wot, there is a definite surge, but cold isn't a good test. Took it for a run to get some bbq, let it warm up good, then stopped, and started again from a dead...

    Fixing ACIS...

I could "guess" that with it being open, you're not getting the full positive effects until around 4k, at which time you feel the "surge." I don't like guessing though. BRB.

    Fixing ACIS...

Hmmm, interesting point. Maybe I need to try tying it open, to make sure it stays open.

    Fixing ACIS...

I don't think it just fully opens or fully closes all at once. By the way it acted when I had it locked closed, versus fully opened, I think it varies according to vacuum pressure. The rpm's where I lost power with it locked closed were significantly lower than where I gained the "surge" with...

    Fixing ACIS...

The valve is spring loaded to hold it open. That spring is heavy, to. Closing it from the linkage was kinda tricky, and I had to use heavy ties to make sure they wouldn't break. On a system that isn't working correctly, the valve is stuck open, which would be causing a loss of low end...

    Fixing ACIS...

It was pointed out to me recently that someone said that, once you start modifying the intake, exhaust, etc., you should disconnect the ACIS. So, since I have upgraded the intake, OBX header, cat delete, and 2.5" exhaust, I figured I'd help out and test this theory. At normal operating temp...

    background check?

Learn how NOT to have a bad driving record? If you have speeding, reckless driving, and especially DUI or DWI tickets, not to mention any ticket that proves you caused an accident, you'll find it hard to get a job anywhere in the automotive business. This due mainly to the fact that they're...

Put at least one quart of fluid in the T.C. before installing it as well, as spinning them dry(at operating rpms) will tear them up.

    Tire size suggestions?

I run 17's with a 45 sidewall. My speedo reads around 4 mi. fast at 70(I have a Tom Tom navigation unit. It works off GPS, so should give me an accurate speed).

    Oil guage and temp switch

Fan switches. I keep meaning to order the prf-30110 to replace my current switch. It works off ground, and has to be wired to your relay accordingly.

What in the heck is this?

I believe the stock fusible link is black, and that they're color coded. I replaced mine with a standard sealed 100 amp fuse from A.Z. Just make sure the holes in the legs are the right size for the bolts that hold it in place.

Any alternative markings to do cam gear timing with???

Timing covers are like insurance, kind of. They might not be 100% necessary, but you'd definitely wish you had them if something fell in there(like that harness laying just behind the cam gears ;)). Knowing exactly where the timing marks are for the cams is good, to. The thermostat...

Wow, nice "fix." The A340 series transmission is used in a few different Toyota vehicles. Parts shouldn't be to difficult to find for a trans. shop.

    Feels like a grinding bearing?

E-brake is a drum style brake inside of the rear disks, and is not part of the brake system used when you apply the pedal. Does it get louder or go away if you turn a corner? If you turn right, you apply more pressure to the left wheels, and take pressure off the right ones, to a degree. So...

Cheap paint job on the Eclipse, sell it, and use the money to fund a good paint job on the Supra. What kind of painter do you think works there? They hire the cheapest help they can find. A good body shop is gonna have a good painter/body man, and pay him well to keep him there. Suprabad's...
