Just crack open the ole wallet....or get the credit card out. And you better plan on seeing some more things to fix while its out. And...oh yea......don't plan on running down to the parts house or dealer and getting everything that day. :biglaugh:
$$$$ where does it let up ???
Any way...the article was saying that the ceramic rotors would be priced at about 2X what the iron ones cost. So I guess that wouldn't be too bad (I get stuff at our shop cost). What's cost of a carbon rotor ??
^ yep....$149 plus shipping. If you can't find it readily online, you can request a free catalog. Its nice to have it around to read in the crap house, cause it has pictures. :biglaugh:
Better do a complete fluid change on those brakes. The fluid is now bad, since it boiled. This is a task you can do with a friend to push the peddle while you bleed out the old fluid.
Get a qt. of Dot 3 fluid, a 12" piece of vacuum line, and a clear bottle (coke?).
Top up the fluid in the...
99 out of 100 Xs it won't be both injector 'and' time switch. You can test both using the TSRM online. Usually it is the time switch. Toyota had some problems with them, and updated them 2-3X.
But...that is probably not why your idle is so low once its running ! The above mentioned items...
No...he got a reman head. He said he was not giving them the old head for a core. No core is needed/returned when you buy a new part.
Makes you wonder where all the reman stuff comes from (calipers, heads, carbs, injectors, etc.), cause at all ain't rebuildable.
Brake squeal is a common problem, caused by a couple of things. 1 is that all the parts vibrate when the brakes are applied. 2 is that sometimes a tiny metallic particle in the pad will generate a very high-pitched sound under light braking, like coming up to a stop sign in town. #2 can...
I don't know if this link will lead you there, but this is the Amsoil recommended change intervals page from Amsoil.com

Also, when an engine sits for a while, moisture (condensation) gets in the crankcase and creates rust. I would go ahead and drive the...
Wrong info here !!!
When it comes brakes, I strongly recommend that those of you out there that are not experts in brakes refrain from giving advice about brakes (on any forum, or to any one). Period !!
Bad advice could cost someone their car, or their life !!!
Now the truth...the...
So are you saying that they could not get it within the specs?? That is hard to believe, with the amount of adjustment available on our cars. Maybe the car has been damaged ?? bent ??
Cars ALWAYS have more than one problem at a time. And they usually show themselves after you fix/do something to it. See my post under the recent 'fan clutch' thread in this section. :biglaugh:
Now let this be a lesson for every one !! The fan clutch is obviously NOT related to the ISC in any way, yet his problem started after he replaced the clutch. Gremlins will get in your car and F$% with it, and your head. :evil2:
On the hatch lock, If you turn the key to the left and then back to center and remove it, the inside lever (by the drivers seat) will be disengaged. I WOULD NOT DO THAT IF I WERE YOU !!!!!!! till you get the key working properly.
I had just bought a new Camry for the wife, when a month later I was transfered to Florida. It rains alot there. I put Rain x on the windows. The sides and back worked great. The water beaded up and ran down so nice. I could always see out them.
BUT...the rain often was light, and it...
The alarm might have gone on because water build-up may have shorted the wiring to the trunk latch. Normally the alarm would go on if someone were getting into the trunk (hatch) inappropriately.
Also, there is a rubber plug (approx 1'2" dia) in each side of the fenderwell you can pull them...
It is a good thing to get a couple of prices, then go into the store and say...
"hey, I'm here now! so can you beat so-n-so's price or what" ??
If you are only asking a few bucks less, they will do it to get your business, and keep you coming back. Repeat business is what they all want.
