so you got a bigger turbo and not bigger injectors?
you should get a wideband then decide what the limit of your stock injectors are. you can raise the fuel cut abit by upping fuel pressure but you might as well just get the bigger injectors
its well documented that the 7M has/had a headgasket flaw. the headgasket wasnt torqued adequately, leading to the common bhg problem around here. sure you can get around it by putting a mhg and arps, but stock for stock, a JZ will always be more reliable
i was looking into MS awhile back for a 1jz. the problem is that JZ gte engines use coil on plug and are triggered by the cam sensor in relation to the crank sensor. Most of the kits they sell you use wastefire, but you have to add a crank trigger wheel and sensor if you want to use that.
the...
ne signal is either cam or crank sensor. you have 2 cam sensors. whoever did your wiring probably crossed a wire. i would trace those with a continuity tester to see where they are running to.
my 1jz swap was done for less than 5k INCLUDING cost of car(2500).
if you do all the work youreself it can come out pretty cheap, just shop round for good deals,
get aftermarkets seats, take out read seats, AND the sound deading under the rear seats as well as the sound deadening under the carpet.
I lost about 90 lbs by going aftermarket seats( i got the cheap supra specific kit from summitracing.com)
i also took out the deadening in the hatch area(...
they look like body plugs. take off your glove box and the plastc cover on top of it and there shoudl be your heater core and youy should find those plugs around there
welcome to supramania! my friend has a 2g awd talon also. what turbo were you running 30 psi on?
any pics of the supra?
and as for your planned mods-
if the car is n/a right now, then you cant use the lexus maf as the non turbo 7m uses karman vortex afm( the flapper style maf). you would have to...
those mods are pretty close to stock, it justifies it.
then theres the vids and people though that have a car with a fat turbo, full bolt ons, nitrous etc. and they calll it a STOCK engine just because it doesnt have any internal work done. thats what pisses me off.
this car is pretty close...
i got my 1jzswap +cost of car done for less than 5k.
i even bought a high cost good condition car for 2500.
if you can pick up a n.a. bhg/ not running supra for 1000ish, use the rest of the money for a 1jz swap.
basically with a 1jz you will have no reliability issues (at least until you want...
the problem with ge engines is the air metering system. they use karman vortex not an airflow meter. its harder to tune them because they go by frequency instead of voltage. with a standalone you can convert to speed density(map sensor).
