this is a sick build! i cant imagine what it would be like seeing one at the drag strip!
last time i was in the stands people didnt know what car a mk3 supra was
( there was another one beside me there, but it had a chevy 454).
some idiot was like "its not a mustang is it?"
272 has longer duration meaning the valves are open for a longer time.
they also have more lift meaning the valves open more to let more air in.
272s make power to 8k rpm. 264 makes power to 7k.
you need to upgrade your springs and retainers for 272s, not for the 264s
bigger cams supposedly...
what i did was keep the same pressure plate(was still good) and just bought a 6 puck disc from driftmotion for like ~$150 the biggest pain in the ass is gettin the shaft from the trans to insert into clutch hub. you gotta rotate the trans almost on its side and once its in the hole, spin it...
your clutch disc melted onto the flywheel. im not joking.
this happened to me before and i was using the same exact sound bend clutch. the problem is the feramic material.. its a really good clutch but feramic doesnt like to be slipped and overheats and melts.
look up feramic on google and you...
get an aeromotive fpr if you dont already have. stock 1jz goes pig rich at about 5k. i wouldnt mess with an safc unless you have a wideband either. i wouldnt go anything over 17ish psi though the twins fail at higher boost levels
if you have the transmission, you would know it would bolt straight up with no modification, use 2jz clutch parts. if it is going into a mk3, you will need to open up the tranny tunnel and the rear end ratio is too short for the mkiv trans
im doing an hx40 on a 1jz.
the dsm crowd loves these turbos and they have a bolt on housing for the hx35 and hx40. considering their engine has 2 less cylinders and is only a 2.0,
1jz/2jz should have no problem running the turbo. They make .55 ar and .70 ar housings both undivided. personally i...
when i swapped from a 4.3 rear end to the 3.9,
we filled the diff with oil, tightened all the bolts while the car was still on jackstands.
so i wana make sure it doesnt grind/ makes noise.
i turn on the car and put it in 1st gear(the car was on jackstands). I feel a hard jerk and the engine...
were any of you guys driving by 1604 and northwoods area(where the movie theater is at) around 9pm? i saw a red mk3 there when i was crossing the intersection. i was in my girls car, a 90s bimmer and i saw the mk3 at the red light so i almost leaned out the window to get a good look.
sorry guys i wasnt able to make it i had work and didnt get out till 730
so i replaced the support panel that got bent, and now the only part thats ugly is the nose piece. im thinking about getting a regulus replica...but not sure how ricy my car would look
i managed a 2.1 60ft with 285 40 17 street tires mounted on mk4 wheels.
you should be getting way better 60fts with those tires.
i agree with whoever said to swap to r154 tranny. you wont have to worry much about it breaking.
if you wana run really good times, you have to let go of the worry...
