    1UZ into my MKIII

Well didn't really get a chance to do anything with the motor or anything that has to do with the swap, but did get a few pics to add.... (damn I need to do some cleaning in the garage) View from front (obviously), sitting on jig. View from rear. Hydraulic Release bearing assembly...

    Truth about Intakes

On an N/A car, the airflow meter is probably more restrictive then the filter/airbox assembley. If you want to test your setup, instal a vacuum gauge between the airflow meter and the filter and run it in to the driver compartment, do a full throttle run to redline and see how much if any...

    wheel question

Oh yeah, they do fit, but again, that is hanging out to far. especially to lower it any more. If left at that height and fairly stiff springs, then might get lucky, but any lower or soft springs and a hard corner and its going to hit in the front. If something else is screwed up on my car that I...

    1UZ into my MKIII

I had a feeling that you were going to say that. Just like SAE most are 82, but some are 90.... Dam-it, why cant anyone be simple and just use one standerd specification.

    1UZ into my MKIII

What are my meaning by "m8"? Are you meaning Metric as in 8mm? If so, not in the heads or mains. The heads are either 10mm or 11mm bolts (can remember off hand) and the mains are 10mm studs and 10mm side bolts. They are stretch bolts and studs, but are considered reusuable based on body...

    1UZ into my MKIII

Thanks for the support thus far guys. ---------------------------------------------- Ok, well I just realized something tonight. There is no way that I am going to be able to get everthing figured out and taken care of in order to swap the motors and have the 1UZ running in a single...

    wtf different motor mount angle???

you car originally had the cast aluminum stands and tall round mounts? What year is the chassis? There is no differance in the blocks. For that matter, the block thats in my car is from an 87 and mine is a 90 chassis, bolts right up. Toyota never changed the 7M block. Even the 7Mpowered...

    1UZ into my MKIII

ok, a few pic that I have readily avalible. First set of mount stands (these are wrong, the correct ones are the same just shorter). Unfortunitly, I do not have the new correct one cause I sold them to a guy up in TN that is doing the same swap.

    1UZ into my MKIII

Yeah, no not this friday..... exactly correct about when ever the friday comes to do it. The point of it is, I cant afford to have the car down during the week so I as shooting to get everything situated and taken care of before hand that way it's basically pull the 7M out and drop the 1UZ...

    1UZ into my MKIII

Yes, does require costum mounts, but no need to pull it forward at all. The only firewall issue and not actually fire wall itself is the brake booster does interfere against the valve cover. The fix for this is booster from a late 80's puckup. Its slightly smaller in diameter and quite a bit...

    1UZ into my MKIII

Hey gang, well after a lot of decission, and a few words with Ian (IJ), I have decided to go ahead and start the thread about my 1uz build/swap. The thread is going to be a little slow to begin with as I am just doing little things here and there to get read for the actual swap. The intension...

    will this work (clutch queston)

Clutch weld itself to an aluminum flywheel? WTF, never heard that one before. I guess maybe if you took the steel friction plate off of the flywheel and ran the disk on the aluminum itself. Personally, I cant stand Centerforce, but thats just my opinion......

    wheel question

BTW, just did the calc (www.1010tires.com) and the and the stock face is the same with the stock MKIII and MKIV wheels. The calc also confermed exactly what I said my old 5Z's and the wheels that he posted about. The calc stated 21mm which happen to be about.010" over 13/16".

    wheel question

ok, well thats fine and all, but the point is my 17x8's w/ 43mm offset and 245 tires hit the fender lip and cut the tire. now a 17x9 is going to automatically gain a 1/2" on each side of center obviously and by going to a 35 from a 43 offset would push the wheel out another 5/16" so therefore...

    wheel question

no, they will hang out way to far with a 35mm offset My old wheels (pitchured in sig) were 17x8 w/ 43mm offset and 245/45/17 tires in the front and (they really should have been 45mm and 50mm) rubber slightly on the fender lip and the rears were 17x9 w/43mm offset and 275/40/17 tires and were...

one thing to not is that if the car is an auto, the RWHP will be lower.
