this is what I suggest for you seeing that you don't have a front clip.
get a 2.5" holesaw and enlarge the hole where the speedometer cable goes. deburr the hole and run your harness through. that solves not having to extend the harness.
now, you can run the harness behind the radio. it...
what contradictory opinions are you getting? is it regarding the wiring? Trust me, it is not that bad and complex. Others here who have done the swap will agree as well.
The best english manual for the 1jz is the toyota 2jz tsrm. You will find that the two engines share almost everything like...
of course you can keep your abs with a 1jz swap. in fact, you don't have to sacrifice anything when doing the swap.
abs is controlled with a separate abs computer that's already on your car.
you are worrying yourself for no reason.
the only thing you need to do to get your 1J running (wiring wise) is to adapt the harness to your fusebox, 3 dash connectors, extend the alternator wiring, and splice 1 wire for your a/c if you choose to have it. you can extend the harness if you...
the only thing you have to do is cut off the blue wire that goes to your 4-pin A/C clutch relay and solder it to the blue wire coming from pin 9 of connector EA2.
A brand new o2 sensor from Toyota is about $400. that is for the 2JZGTE which is the same as the 1JZ.
I know that you can use a 7MGTE o2 sensor as it is the same, 3 wire, but it uses a different connector. Also, the terminals are slightly different so you cannot depin a 7MGTE o2 sensor and...
Yes, they will work, as long as you are using the 7M harness. I am not sure if the 2JZGE injectors are high or low impedence. That's easy to work around though either way. Remember to use all 7M sensors.
that will work, people have done it before. if SF's search wasn't down you could find it.
The 2JZGE already has 2 knock sensors, so no need for tapping, and I believe the GE already uses top feed injectors.
Talk to Chris at enginelogics here in Houston. He is extremely knowledgable about cam sizing, etc. He had a very lengthy explanation on why one should choose a staggered cam setup on SF, but the search is down.
Call him up at 281-933-2262. Very nice guy.
