    Dies when restarting!

Also...these cars won't 'vapor lock'. You may need to run some good injector cleaner thru the fuel sustem.

    Head bolt lube

Well, I just got through, today, reading a rather lengthy article on just this subject of bolts, studs, nuts, torque, and lube, and sealing surfaces. Motor Service, Feb. 2002. It stressed that you should always follow the maunfactures specs for a particular bolt. I believe Toyota says...

    New IC idea

You can NOT release freon into the atmosphere, so where would it be collected at ?? There is already a CO2 system you can add. It was discussed on here a couple of weeks ago. Here's one...http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=egnsearch.asp&N=115+400384+314502&autoview=sku...

Wrong Head Gasket - Head Machining question

Sometimes when you are looking at the gasket and block and head, it may look like something is not right. But...many times the passages are not suppose to go all the way through. Sometimes they are blocked to send the coolant where its supposed to be.

    Turbo only?

I suspect the length of the pipe may be involved also.

    Any octane booster users here?

The booster will also clean the injectors, so it may run better now.

    power window question

And if you remove the whole door pane, be sure and clean all the moving parts and tracks with spray brake cleaner. I recommend lubing with synthetic brake caliper grease. It stays slippery WAY better than spray lithium grease. I did mine 3 years ago because it was getting very sticky, and...

    Water temp.

And snip off the little dangly too. It will help keep the air out of the system. Many people (me too) drill the hole out to 3/16".:biglaugh:

    Max Water Temp...???

And......if you are pushing coolant into the overflow bottle (usually BHG), especially when cruising down the highway, the level in the engine will go down. What happens is the temp gage may NOT rise. This is due to the fact that it takes coolant to be on (touching) the sender for the gage to...

    Cooling System Question

Every time (damn it) I've had the t-stat out, I've ended up HAVING to use a NEW rubber seal. Just get a new one and put it on, and always only snug the bolts down. They can break. Firm is all they can handle, because the housing bottoms out. The hard hose is what told me to get a 'block...

    Noisy Cams

It its a rapid tic tic tic, then it sounds like valve adjustment is a little loose. Its a bit of a PITA to adjust them. Mine was like that for the first 2 years I owned it. Then they got adjusted when I did the valve job/BHG. I've heard several with this, and they run fine. Better a...

    Cooling system help

Mine did what yours is doing. The top hose would get very hard, then finally the cap would let the pressure over to the bottle. The BHG just didn't show up. I burped it several times over 2 months. Finally, after 3 test over 2 months, the block test chemical showed a BHG. When I got it...

VSV needed to operate the heater?

The VSV craps out. That they do. Mine did. Just hook the vacuum line straight to the heater water valve in the winter and then remove it and stick a golf tee into the hose in the summer.:biglaugh: If you ever go to some mtns in the summer, you can just plug it into the valve for the cold...

    Low Oil Light idea!

The computer calculates several factors to let you know when to change the oil. Different 'high-end' vehicles have the feature. Some give you a % of life left in the oil, others just tell you to change it. A lot of engine starts, within a mileage range, will tell you at about 3k miles. If...
