Do not buy another MKIII. You have a very nice platform for some boosted fun. Just go on youtube and search for turbo e30 325i. You car should weigh no more than 2900lbs too... it's a no brainer. Do eeet!!! Do eeet now!

High compression pistons, 31+psi, E85, stand alone, and lots of timing will get you close to what he made. Let us know how you do.

I would still check the valve lash. It's possible that whomever installed the valve stem seals got a couple of the shims mixed up while putting them back in. Just check it, and move on if that's not the issue.
