Battery was a goner. I had to buy another one. I tuned the closed loop, and moved on to open loop. Then I started hitting fuel cut at 11psi. I forgot that fuel cut is activated when a certain frequency is reached. I have to bump up the fuel pressure and retune. It's coming along, but I...
Aeromotive AFPR (red top). Vacuum source is the same as where the stock FPR gets it.
Walbro 255lph pump. When I had the injectors cleaned and flowed they measured them at 526cc's tested at 35psi. They flowed 118ml/15sec. So they aren't true 550cc injectors, but a little fuel pressure bump...
Thank you for the help. Yesterday was cool and dry. This morning was cool and humid with very light mist in the air. Could that have made a differenc in why I was running 10.9:1 yesterday, and 13.9:1 this morning? That's a pretty big jump. I would look into the stand alone thing, but I have...
2.2K resistor is plugged into the afm harness plug.
1991. But I thought it was the pre 89 that were separated from the ECU.
That makes so much more sense, and will try that next time out.
I think I'm SOL here. My head is P&P'd and this damn engine demands gobs of air. Now it makes sense...
Frustrated.
Yesterday I had a rock solid idle tuned to 3.5v 15.1:1 afr. That same night it started to bounce around and showed 1v from Vf, but AFR's were leaning out between 16.8:1 to 18:0. There's a couple of cells on the table that it bounces around searching for a good spot to sit. I...
I remember back in the day running 14.20 @ 99mph with the same 2.1 sixty foot time. I was running 11psi on a stock CT26, HKS catback, & K&N drop in stock box filter. That's with a turbo car. You did this with a non-turbo. Congrats. I'm impressed. I usually see n/a's running low 16's...
Another question is about tuning for open loop. From what I've read somewhere TCCS will continue to tune for 14.7 even in the early stages of boost. I want to shoot for 11.0:1 so at what point do I begin fattening up the map? At 1psi on up? 5psi up? I don't want to disturb TCCS.
A 60-1 in an S cover is rated roughly around 61 lb/min. That's roughly 600 crank hp. I know that wheel in the CT26 housing will flow less, but it should get him at least low to mid 400whp.
I second Dan_Gyoba, you have what you need to meet your power goals. If you're willing to drop $2000 on a T4 turbo set up why go standalone and tune the shit out of what you have? I swear there was someone on here selling an AEM EMS 89+ V1 for $900. For some reason I can't find the ad. Here...
I'd rather have studs instead of bolts because my ability to over-tighten, strip, crossthread, and snap the bolt head on shit is awesome. I'd rather screw up a nut than a bolt hole. It's not like I purposely tighten the shit out of stuff... that's just my luck.
Leak down tester will show if pistons rings, headgasket and valves are seating correctly. On the engine stand you can remove the rod and main caps and inspect for any defects. Measure all clearances with plastigauge. The procedure is laid out in TSRM shown here in the next few pages...
How much boost were you running when you made those numbers? That's really not that bad untuned. I would try to give it another go with a proper tune this time around. If you're still not happy then sell it. It has the S cover right? 4" in 2.5" out? How much would you want for it?
Welcome SchoupleDupe.
Ok guys, I was out doing some more street tuning with the MAP ECU. I got a hang of how to tune it according to TCCS Vf fuel trim. I'm doing pretty decent at the moment. Still tuning closed loop a little at a time. I make small changes throughout certain RPM ranges...
I've been street tuning this MAPECU in third gear for the most part. Right now I'm tuning the idle and cruise part. I'll be dabbling in the boost areas later once I do the non-boost section. I'm doing pretty decent tuning to Vf right now.
I've gone up to about 3000rpm. Problem is when I...
