insert a small flathead (jewelry screwdriver) into the connector and depress the clip that fastens the terminal into the connector. or you could just break the old connector since you wont be using it anymore. just be careful not to bend or damage the terminals.
wow, very nice runs! I ran the same time (8.9) on street tires. that's awesome how much of a difference slicks make, I didn't think it would be that much.
check your IGF wire. it's the red/blue wire in the 4-pin connector that goes to the igniter. if the IGF terminal isn't making a proper connection, you will not get any spark.
also check that you are getting power to your igniter and ignition coils, and that your igniter is properly grounded...
refer to the aristo ecu pinout and you'll see that it has 6 pins for the injectors, compared to the 1JZ's 3 pins. for example, on the 1JZ, injectors #1 and #4 share a wire going to the ecu. that means you have to run a wire from injector number 4 to the appropriate pin on the 2JZ ecu. basically...

also, if you decide to get it, the heads are interchangeable with the older chrysler minivans, forget what years. The G54Bs in those vans didn't have the problematic auxillary valves in the head.
I had an '88 ESI-R. They're ok cars, but the engine design is crap IMO and there is very little aftermarket.
I probably would have put a 4G in there if I still had it.
