    For V8 Supra Lovers/Haters

I am would not swap in a cast-iron V8. The interior looks nice. Also, the side exhaust kinda looks cool as you can see the primaries merge. The body is too gawdy, however the fender flares are not too bad.

    SySt's Build up

After trying F-Body and C5 exhaust manifolds, I found some that will work. They are off of a CTS-V. The clearance to the steering link on the driver's side is so close that when turning the steering wheel the pinch bolt rubs a little. So with some grinding it should JUST fit. I am not...

    MK3 V8 conversion

Can an LSX motor go for 300K? Possibly. Are you saying all Lexus V8s will? And with technology today, no engine will last 300k when driven hard a lot. Which is of course why I would upgrade a car, to make it faster.

Panel on the tunnel? You mean where all the holes are drilled, used to be spot welds? They is the driver side transmission mount. I had to remove it to fit the transmission. I definitly agree with the price to performance with a 3rd or 4th gen SBC. I never had a super fast 7M but comon, my...

    MK3 V8 conversion

Oh, I forgot to mention that the stock MKIII tires and differential (3.909 in this case) gives you gearing very close to an F-body with 4.10s when using a T56.

I plan on running electric fans. I will build a shroud/scoop to help direct air through the radiator at some point... As for clearances, you can move the oil pan forward a good 2". However the problem comes with the way the front of the oil pan is designed. Clearance between the oil pan...

    MK3 V8 conversion

Amen Adjuster. You didn't mention the factory PCM is fully tuneable with available equipment, you may not even need an aftermarket unit. The LS7 is a good motor to compare with, being it has the same redline. You can basically take any 7M torque curve and multiply the numbers across the board...

    powershifting?

I would not think powershifting to bea very good way to shift. I have done it countless times and I think you are faster by just performing a fast shift. Especially from 1st to 2nd during a power shift you will just break the tires loose.

    MK3 V8 conversion

Think you can take an LS6 powered Supra, having only 3" exhaust and intake? Calling an engine a "Chevy 350" is not even slightly descriptive. There are four generations of small block Chevrolets. The LSX series falling under the 3rd and 4th generations. Also, no offense to the people who...

    SySt's Build up

I installed my alternator and bracket and find out a Corvette uses a different crank pulley than an F-Body.

    SySt's Build up

I decided to use the factory dashboard and center console. I got the center console to fit by trimming the rear of the shifter bezel. Also, I am done routing the front brake lines. Here are some pics.

    MK3 V8 conversion

Oh, and if you want my opinion. Anyone who does not want to do an aluminum V8 swap into their Supra owns it for reasons aside from performance.

    MK3 V8 conversion

I a happen to be doing a V8 swap in my Supra. I am putting an LS6 out of a 2002 Corvette Z06 in mine along with the T-56 6-speed out of a 1998 Camaro. I have a build thread going here: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10250 Another member here, CJSupra is putting a 1UZ...

    suspension?

Eibach does not give that much of a rake. I have Eibach/Bilsteins. If you think you may have enough for low end "coilovers" then I would go with Eibach/Bilsteins with ST sway bars with the rear bar set stiff. That is my current setup and I like it a lot.

    SySt's Build up

Finally snapped some pics of my fuel cell and also my coils. If you notice in one of the pics, there is TWO Walbro 255lph pumps in my cell. The cell also has a built in regulator so I only need to plumb a feed line to the engine. That works perfect as LS1s are returnless from the factory.

    1UZ into my MKIII

I wonder how the 1UZ compares to an LS1, weight-wise. I know an LS1 weighs about 430lbs fully loaded. That includes all accessories including A/C, all ignition components, everything. I do know my engine/transmission setup weighs about 500lbs give or take 25lbs. I beleive the 7m with R154...

    Need Info on: Progressive Steering

The progressive part of the steering is in the valving at the rack. Read the TSRM to get the details. Personally I like having the steering feeling the closest to the same all the time. I don't want extra power at lower speeds and less at higher, I am sure it makes feeling the car out more...

    SySt's Build up

Of course it has been slow, but some updates have been made. I have the brake lines done for the front circuit. I have to figure out routing the fuel lines and the brake line for the rear circuit, I want to keep it away from the header. Some parts have come in recently. A Wilwood...

    Cummins Holset hx-55

Yes, a smaller exhaust housing would benefit you. I do not know the specs on the turbo, however something tells me the compressor will flow more than 500hp decently within it's efficieny range.
