    Facts About MKIII Brembo Rotors

Unless you're racing, or use the brakes on the street like you're racing, you probably won't have a problem with drilled rotors. The rotors are weaker in strength, but unless you heat them up real hot, you shouldn't have a cracking problem. The cracks occur from the thermal stresses. I got...

    Tems

Jetjock, you're probably right. Above certain a speed it does go to firm when you brake and it doesn't matter if you brake hard. But from personal experience I've applied the brakes lightly at high speeds and don't get the firm TEMS. But that might be dependent on my brake light switch. In...

    Electrical problem

The 7.5A guage power circuit runs the power window relay. Here's the guage cluster: http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/library/TSRM/d/D_07.html http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/library/TSRM/d/D_08.html Here's the relay: http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/library/TSRM/d/D_15.html Unfortunately, this...

Mk5 Supra In Road & Track Magazine

I hear that because of the great success that Nissan has on the G35 (now the Skyline GT), and the 350Z, that Toyota has to respond with an affortable sports car, hence the new Supra. They were planning to come out with it in 2007, but from the article, it looks like they have moved it back to...

    Tems

Sounds normal. I bet you brake hard and you're using the normal (as opposed to the sport) mode. The TEMS actuator will go to hard (3 lights) during hard braking. If I remember, it stays there until you let go of the brakes. Then it will go back to the normal (one light) or sport (two lights)...

    TRD TEMS SHOX = KYB's

My friend works for Toyota as an engineer. He says TRD is just a distrubution house. TRD really doesn't anything. And Toyota part are made by a lot of different vendors and shops for Toyota. Just like the Toyota stereos used to be Fujitsu Ten. I don't know if they still are.

Help a newbie pick a CD player please!

I agree with you T.T.L.- But when you're young, 10 bucks goes a long way. Heck, that's almost half a tank of gas. You can use pliers if you're careful. Just don't break the outer insulation and make sure you get it crimped down good. I like to use solder connections. I've had crimp...

Help a newbie pick a CD player please!

I think all the current head units these days would be compatable with the Mk III antenna. But beware, there are two methods of getting a signal to the anetnna motor. My brother's '85 Celica antenna had to have a push button 12V momentary switch put in because the antenna didn't go up or may...

    Oil Pan Mania!!! Ahhhh!!! Help!!!!

I've got a JDM '87 (I think) 7MGTE in my '87 that was originally a NA. No problems. Well actuall a JDM 7MGTE and everything else except the tranny from an '87-T. The place that the motor came from said the oil pump was tested. But the pressure was lower than what I had on my NA. I should have...

    failed emissions

You should check for old leaking or cracked intake lines and replace as necessary. Also, if you have an old cat., you should change it. Cats don't last forever.

    another strut/spring question

The camber plate studs on the top of the struts have a slightly different spacing on them. But otherwise, the front and rears are almost identical. So measure or have the guy that has them measure the spacing between the studs. But measure carefully because the difference is not obvious.

    Oil filter threads?

MDC, My 7MGTE uses a different filter than when it was a 7MGE. The GTE has a 90 degree adapter on the block and uses a smaller filter. The GE used the standard size GM/Ford filter that went right on the block. Its an early '87 NA with a JDM GTE rebuild. Did I do something wrong when I built...

    Tems

I've got TEMS and I don't see any difference in any position. You just get the third light and you hear the actuators briefly. But the ride seems the same. Even with the expensive Tokico TEMS. So I'm ditching the TEMS for coilovers.

    Bendix or Napa pads?

I've used raybestos a long time ago. They were semi-metalic. Like all of the semi-metalic pads, they don't stop when cold. When they're warm, they're OK.

Help a newbie pick a CD player please!

Going on reputation, I'd recommend MB Quart speakers. I've never heard their car speakers, but the home speakers are very good for the money. http://www.millionbuy.com/caudio-speak-mbq.html Audiobahn's are suppose to be good. A guy at work said Audiobahn wins all out car stereo...

    HKS exhaust

I've got a header. It looks identical to the stock NA exhaust minus the welding required for the collector flange. I never put it on because it was more trouble than anything else.

PICS INSIDE...Which wheels do I choose

The 3rd one,ADR M-Sport, is too much trouble to keep clean. I'm lazy, I don't know about you. Even if its black and doesn't show dust, I like to keep things clean. There was a time when I was younger and loved that style, but not any more. My choice is the 2dn one, Stern ST-1 Beast...
