    Are headers worth it?

I bought headers but never installed it. I forget what the brand was. I took it out of the box, looked at the stock mani, and decided it looked almost identical to the stock mani. The only big difference was that you had to weld the collector on the header. So I never installed it.

what color to paint the supra hmm (PICS)!!!!

I've got a white Excursion, a white 4-Runner, a dark blue Passat and a medium blue Supra. The white cars I wash about 3 times a year. All of the other cars need to be washed a least every other week. Although I don't really like the color, there's something to be said about white.

    Distributer Longevity?

I had my '87 NA since it was new. Toyota changed the distrubuter once when the warrenty just ended. The car quit running and wouldn't start. I think I might have changed the rotor and cap once more in the 15 years it was a NA.

ok here it is 2007 supra

My friend at Toyota USA said the same thing. Of course the basic philosphy of Toyota is to make money. Sports cars don't make money unless you sell a ton of them. And the sports car market isn't huge. With the launch of the legandary Skyline in the US, Nissan is really going big into sports...

ok here it is 2007 supra

I did hear that Toyota wanted to get back into the sports car market too. Apparently the 350Z and G35 are doing extremely good. Toyota is also attempting to get a share of the very profitable American truck market. The highest profit margins are on trucks, followed by SUVs. They are also...

    TEMS to TOKIKO HP

I think you could manually set the shock damping on the Illumina shocks. Just turn the adjustment on the top of the shocks to the same setting. Check the TSRM for which way it stiffer. I'm not sure if vibration will change the adjustment tho. Personally, I have TEMS and Illumina struts and...

    Brakes pull to left

I'm with Chris. If, for example, its pulling to the left, its because the right is not braking as much as it should be. So the problem would be on the right. I have a friend who had a clog in his brake line after changing them. You could switch the lines from one side to the other to see if...

Using Shell Rotella T 15W-40 oil

Rotella is an oil that can be used in diesel engines. I'm pretty sure it can be used in gasoline engines. Oils formulate to meet diesel standards, such as Chevron Delos 400, usually meet gasoline engine standards too. I'm using Amsoil diesel synthetic motor oil in my 4Runner, since it doesn't...

    Wiring Gauges

I'm with shaeff. I have a relay and junction/terminal strip after the relay that I use for all of my interior accessories I have added. If you run too much off of one small wire, you'l blow the fuse, or worse, start a fire. I use the relay to turn the power on and off when the ignition is on...

Differences between JDM & USDM 7M-GE?

The JDM head can be different because of the EGR delete. My 7MGTE JDM head was a US (or may be a universal) head with an EGR plug. But I don't know if they all are that way. Couldn't tell you about the throttle linkage because it didn't come with one. The GTE and GE USDM throttle linkage...

Geezer, If you're from Oceanside, than why are you worried about rain? It rains about a total of 36 days (18 inches) a year of rain there.

Red, If you're in Pico, I'd take my Supra to a place in City of Industry that does among other cars, Mk IVs. Its SP Engineering. This is a real serious shop into building serious cars. They're probably not cheap tho. There's a place in Torrance, Toysport that does only Toyotas. I've had...

    Facts About MKIII Brembo Rotors

I don't know about Brembo, but most places buy cheap blank rotors and machine them for each application. That includes drilling and slotting. The blanks are cheap. Machining I've heard can be as much as $80 each for an outside machine house to do it. But that's for a set up of (2) rotors...

Mk5 Supra In Road & Track Magazine

The only way the Supra is going to compete with the high HP cars of today (including the lower priced American cars) is to go with a V-8. Toyota has no option if they want a high HP model. You can only squeeze so much power out of a turbo 6 cylinder motor, and the emissions are very difficult...

Mk5 Supra In Road & Track Magazine

Lexus and Toyota is the same company. There is no such thing as Lexus in Japan. Lexus is a status name Toyota came up with for the US. The car deal for an employee used to be at cost. But you had to hold on to it for I think 2 years. A coworker's wife worked at Toyota in Torrance and I have...
