    driftmotion 1JZ intercooler piping kit...

Have you tried talking to Aaron or send him a pm with a link to this thread? He would be the man to help you for sure. To me it seems that maybe the turbo outlet pipe is upside down that might get you closer, hard to tell . But I looked at the kit on the website and it looks like there are 5...

    All new Bushings: WOW!

Nice little review, thanks. I am in the process of doing the same thing. Just have the fronts left. I hope it gets rid of my drift to the right under power. First time I got my motor installed into a new shell it felt like a boat to drive. That is why I am doing all the bushings and then...

Gauges Not getting signal. Please Help!!!!

I would double check the gauge fuse as well. I had a similar problem with mine after my swap. Although my fuse tested ok with a volt meter/ test light it was not making contact in the terminal. Ended up being some oil on the blades of the fuse preventing good contact.

    California laws?

Like everyone has said, smog is the biggest issue. Your mileage may vary on the other mods. I have lived in SF Bay Area, and Orange County most of my life and have never been hassled ticketed for being too low or modified exhaust (been warned though even for a carb legal greddy trust exhaust...

Acceptable rubber hose for oil drain? 1jz

I used both return rubber hoses from the 2jz-gte on my 1jz. They are not a perfect fit but should work I have ran the motor and no leaks, but it was for a very short time. The bends and lengths are somewhat different between the two engines but there was enough meat to get both hoseclamps on...

    Inspecting control arm balljoints

Thanks for the reply. In my ongoing search I also came accross this page. Which is a tech update I believe. It differs from the service manual where it says 31 in-lbs or less. http://www.toyotapart.com/SUSPENSION_BALL_JOINT_INSPECTION_T-PG027-02.pdf I have tessted most of the arms and...

    polyurethane bushing?

Yah there is a guide floating on here or supraforums about that. It has been done plenty of times i am sure. I think you burn them out and then hacksaw the sleeve and tap it out witha chisel. You can search for it and find it (I found it while doing my research). Good luck to you.

    Inspecting control arm balljoints

Hi all, I am currently installing poly bushings through out my control arms rear first then the front. I have a question regarding inspecting the ball joints (upper control arm). What is the proper procedure for checking the turning torque. I followed this from the TSRM...

    polyurethane bushing?

I just pushed the bushings out of my rear suspension arms last weekend. I used our hydraulic press at work and it appeared to take quite a bit of force. I have not done the hub bushings yet but the instructions seem to indicate they used a bearing puller or similar tool so it may be possible...

Hey thanks man. I was talking about the 89 with the 1jz. I just got done putting my 1jz into my 89. I took it out of an 88 that was running perfect. It appears I have the early 89 with square mounts and I checked the wires in my jumper harness and they appear to be correct, although I will...

wiring an 88 heater unit into 89 chasis?

I am still working on this problem. I looked up the wires in the TEWD and discovered that the wires are coming from the Recirc/ Fresh Control Servo Motor and goes to the connector for the A/C Relay box. I have been unable to find a 88 TEWD anywhere. I am thinking this connection controls...

wiring an 88 heater unit into 89 chasis?

I am in the middle installing the heater unit from my 88 into my 89. The 89 shell was missing it when I bought it. Everything has been going good until I tried the last connector. There are three connectors at the top left of the heater unit. The 2 bigger connectors plugged together but the...

    Help needed identifying small part

Hi all, I am in the process of swapping my 1jz from 1 car to another. I am going though the motor cleaning everything up. I found this little piece laying on the ground last night. I have no idea what it is but it may have fallen off the intake manifold when I was swapping all the bits and...

    Transmission Problems

I agree, Thats why I went to Marlin. I doubt the 600 would cover R+R if it does that is a hell of a deal if they do good work. From the sales guy at Marlin it sounds like he is blue printing my tranny. He also asked how tight I want it to shift so they can design in the feel of it to I guess.

    Transmission Problems

I figured I would chime in since I have my tranny at Marlin right now. These guys seem to be pretty good. The price I got quoted was about $1200 for a full rebuild which include new synchros, rings, bearings, and all the upgraded Marlin goodies and a 1 year unlimited mileage waranty. The only...

What are the consequences of running w/o PS pump?

I had a look at the car this morning. It appears that the power steering lines on the passenger side were connected together. I didn't pull them apart to see if there is fluid in them. I am not sure if this would change anything in terms of needing a new rack though. Also would it be fine to...
