    Clank Noise Detailed Diagnosis

Did you ever figure out your clanking noise? I am trying to track down the same exact noise. Based on your video I think I have the same problem. I have new ball joints, new steering rack (old bushings, thinking I should have replaced these), new bushings, new tie rods inner and outer, and...

    push starting?

I push started my supra for quite a while when my starter was going out. I usually did it in first or reverse. I would park on hills just so I wouldn't have to push. Put the key in the ON position, push the clutch in and roll the car. Once you get some speed let the clutch out. If you get...

    really need help gettin fustrated

I think it is the BOV not being recirculated as well. With my greddy type-s it would stall sometimes between shifts or coming to a stop and pushing the clutch in. It didn't matter on the spring adjustment much for me. When I had the Saab BOV mod it didn't die.

Na LSD verses a turbo LSD

Is it possible that the 89's came with the 3.9 gear ratio in the turbos? I seem to recall reading the axle code for diff as 3.9's from the door plate. I have an early 89 with square motor mounts and wiring. Also, to the OP I loved the acceleration that I had in my 88 NA with 1j swap (Stock...

    DM oil sender hose

I didnt have problems threading mine into the block but on the sender side I screwed it in and it leaks when the car runs. I am thinking about pulling it and using some sort of sealer perhaps the toyota FIPG.

    Gran Turismo 5 delayed, AGAIN..

Wow, again!!! People have been waiting for this flagship ps3 game for a long time. If they are still working out bugs it probably means at least another few months. I hope its more of a production issue since Nov. 2nd is less than 3 weeks away. I highly doubt they can fix the game and...

Who has removed a steering rack or tie rod and how did you do it?

You can bang the top of the bolt if you are planning on replacing the outer tie rod ends since you will most likely damage the threads. The pickle fork can work to but I have never used one. I usually just hit the side of the steering knuckle and it pops free. Sometimes you need to grab a...

Need some amp and speaker advice

Why do you want 6X9s? I like the mid bass sound and rear fill they provide. And i do not want to use the 4" or 4x6 stock speaker size back there (I forget what it actually was). I have done a system that had a 12" and two 6x9's in a box, each speaker having a seperate chamber. This was in...

Need some amp and speaker advice

I like Boston acoustic speakers or Polk Audio. They deliver good sound for the price. I installed many of them in my time (stereo installer for 3 years although it was 8 years ago). I am in the same boat planning on my sound system next. The route I was going was to buy a 5 channel amp by...

New speakers in doors, crappy sound.

Sealing the speaker will help tremendously as will having the speaker pods. But one thing that you can check is if they are wired up correctly. you may have 1 speaker out of phase with the other. This will cancel out your bass frequencies. You can easily check by turning the balance to each...

Fluidyne Radiator W/???? E fans and Shroud

I got them with my car along with a controller as well. I think they are in the range of 300-350 for the flex-a-lites. There are cheaper alternatives as well most likely. I have heard alot about the Ford Taurus E-fan. That is a good junk yard alternative and may actually flow more air than...

How do I make my antenna go down?

Does your power antenna never go down, even with the car off? Have you checked to see if it is plugged in? Does your radio work? Stock or aftermarket?

    Suspension-bushing-restoration question

I went 4 years on them without having to touch it. Sold the car they could possibly have the same ones another 6 years down the road. Shocks/struts are maintenance items you will need to eventually replace them but it is usually a long time.

    Suspension-bushing-restoration question

For a basic set-up I loved the Eibach springs, Tokico Illumina TEMS shocks and Suspension Technique sways. I had these on an old 87 and the car railed and wasn't very harsh. I had stock bushings. Worn out bushings suck. I replaced them on my 89 but dont have much road time yet.
