I am rocking a fluidyne radiator with Flex-a-lite 210 fans and shroud, I believe. Looks really good. I have a photo at home I will try and upload tonight. The intercooler piping on the 1j barely buts up against it on the IM side. I haven't had any cooling problems as of yet but I live in a...
I dont know if thise would help but I had the same problems when I swapped my motor from an 88 to an 89. Try actually replacing the guage fuse. I know its a long shot but mine actually tested fine with a voltmeter but I had some oil on the blade of the fuse and it did not make contact. I...
I highly doubt you will find a electrical schematic for the ECU. That type of stuff is usually closely guarded. I couldn't get one from MTX when I was trying to repair my amplifier. Only thing you can really do is reverse engineer it. Resistors are usually color coded like said above.
Check the codes to. Hopefully the guy is giving you a great price for a car with problems. compression and leakdown tests might prove some valuable information also. I have a suspicion it is the capacitors in the ECU. These are prone to fail if they have not been replaced. My car acted like...
My latest supra hasn't been out of the garage (on the road) yet so randoms have not got the chance to say anything. MY friends think the engine bay is clean and want me to go through their car and make theres look just as good.
Apparently there are only 47 left in the states. I talked to the guy this year and he has owned it since 73. He said the brakemaster/booster went out on it and 81 and he had to park it for 10+ years since he couldn't get a replacement. Some company on the East Coast restored it about 10 years...
I live in Pismo Beach and we just had our annual car show also. I consider this place to be a small town but it does bring in people from some distance. We do get some imports and but it is mostly american classic muscle cars. But amongst all these old cobras, corvettes and chevelles there...
sweet. Hope everything works out for you. I just drove mine to work today. I switched my motor into a new chasis and finally got to drive a Supra again Its been over a year. New chasis has 2004 registration stickers lol. So I am sure the car is happy to be on the road again.
Drove my car to work today. First real time I have got to put on it since changing the motor to a different car and adding the HKS exhaust. The car is a lot quieter now with the HKS. Sounds good still but not as loud. The tone got a little deeper. Opened up you can tell its an exhaust but...
1cm doesn't seem like much, that is less than .5" but that may be all it takes. Does the piston move as soon as you press the pedal or does the pedal go down some before it moves? Could be air or the piston inside isn't retracting all the way. I had to fight mine for a while and I had a...
When you say it will fail what are the signs? Noises or no clutch engagement anymore? I hate reading stuff like this since it makes me question my own work. I followed the procedure exactly but the diagrams in the TSRM are difficult to make out sometimes i.e. which direction the conespring...
+1 I think the resonator makes a big difference. I have the HKS exhaust on my car and I prefer it over the megan that it used to have. People thought my car sounded like a motorcycle with the megan. I had a Greddy Trust exhaust on my first car with a 7m and that one sounded good although I...
Yah, the fitted looks way better in my opinion. You should use some quick detailer and clean the area behind it. That would make it really pop. Is that a blue weave or the car color getting picked up?
The CF trim was an idea I had also. It doesn't seem right to me raised like that. In for final pics though. The Vacuum lay-up should look much better. The LEDs look sweet.
