hmm need help,. hitting fuel cut at STOCK Boost levels

Okay....how? From the post I linked to... Also it's worth noting that the OP in that thread did claim to have fixed the problem after putting on a new turbine discharge gasket (to stop the exhaust leak).

Check Engine Code (air-fuel ratio lean malfunction)

No, that valve operates off of fluid pressure (generated by the pump). No pump = no pressure. Because of this, what he said about stalling while sitting and turning the wheels won't apply. This would only happen if you had an operational P/S system but no idle-up valve. Basically, when you...

    Rod Knock for the win

Well, yeah (assuming it actually is rod knock), but it's not an easy job, you'll need to either pull the engine to do it or drop the subframe and go at it from underneath. Many people, if not most, just do a full rebuild while they're at it, this is a good idea if you can afford it. But you...

hmm need help,. hitting fuel cut at STOCK Boost levels

Are you guys sure his exhaust leak won't cause this? http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?111851-ahhhhh!!!!!-why-am-i-still-hitting-fuel-cut&p=1464001&viewfull=1#post1464001 It's not just any exhaust leak, it's an exhaust leak between the turbo and downpipe. Wouldn't that...

Yeah, that exhaust leak needs to be fixed first.

    new engine problems

Knock sensor won't cause this problem. Possible. +1 for checking for codes and boost leaks.

    vacuum lines

You're right it is definitely better to ask first. I'm sure you're probably waiting for someone with more experience than me to chime in, but when you say that you "know" some of the lines can be removed, how do you know? Just wondering what makes you say that. In general, you can only...

    having some issues...

Well in that case it doesn't sound like fuel cut if the car is capable of reaching higher levels of boost. Unless the problem developed after you got the car (and turned down the boost)...did the car have this issue when you bought it? At this point we're just guessing though, until you do...

    help with turbo actuator

So it sounds like exhaust is leaking out your wastegate at idle? If so your wastegate isn't closing properly, and is a likely cause of your problem. You won't build full boost if the wastegate is cracked too far open. Also, a visual once-over isn't enough when you're checking for boost leaks...

    having some issues...

Agreed. And fuel cut at only 8psi sounds like a boost leak...

    vacuum lines

You shouldn't remove your charcoal canister. Yeah, it's common for people who delete it to compensate with a vented gas cap, but the charcoal canister also has a check valve that keeps positive pressure in the fuel tank, to keep your pump from cavitating... A vented gas cap doesn't address...

    help with turbo actuator

There are several things that could cause that. Could be a bad actuator...you're seeing more boost with this wrong set-up because the actuator isn't seeing any pressure from the turbo so it's staying closed. You can test the actuator per TSRM. Also would be a good idea to check for boost...

Hesitating and stumbling over 3500 RPMs. Help! **Update**

No, from here I would say check ignition spark, take a look at the troubleshooting order in the TSRM: http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?S=FI&P=21. AFM is unlikely (spark plugs too for that matter) according to this.

    Possible BHG?

Koyo radiators seem to have a pretty good reputation from what I've heard, I wouldn't think one of them would leak unless there was excessive pressure in the cooling system (I'm surprised that the radiator was the "weakest link" and not something else though). It's possible that your radiator...

    What is limp mode like?

Code 52 does cause the ECU to go into a fail safe mode, but that wouldn't explain your problem; the car would still run "decent" (less power and worse gas mileage is all you would notice). You do need to fix your knock sensor issue (probably just the wiring) but this is something else...you're...

No spark on my 89 turbo

Take a look at this... http://cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?S=FI&P=29 The check engine light problem needs to be taken care of first so you can pull codes.

    Hose question

Yeah, after looking around some more with no success, I decided to slowly fill it with coolant to narrow things down. Sure enough there were a couple of open ports right under the intake manifold, so I think it was the first of the three you mentioned. Thanks!

    Hose question

Hey guys, I just finished putting my car back together after a headgasket job (haven't started it yet), and I have just this one part left over. I must have forgotten to label it when I was taking stuff off, and I've looked through all the EPC's and can't seem to find where it goes. So far I...
