    Jdm r-154 vs usdm r-154

It's sake ;) I'd double check and see if there's maybe a mounting spot for that sensor that is just plugged as well. Sometimes that's the case. Worst case scenario you could take the guts out of the JDM and put it in your USDM one (though that would be a lot of work).

    Huge amounts of coolant loss

Put the cooling system under pressure with a pressure test kit. You see it dropping you know there's a leak, just a matter of finding the trickle of coolant/water. If you can't find it, see if the engine is harder to start or stumbles when starting after keeping pressure on for half an hour...

    Manual Boost Controller Not Working...

Yeah, from the looks of the picture, I would say the arrow pointing in would be the supply boost (ie, the turbo nipple). Let us know what happens when you flip them around.

    plastic things on injectors

They come in most injector seal kits. If you look at the pictures on Rock Auto for the injector o-rings they're included. I replaced all mine when I redid my head.

    Bhg?

That's what I was about to say. Typical idle pressure you see is usually between 5 - 12 psi, and normal driving between 25 - 45 psi. Pushing it harder you'd see a bit more, but 60 psi driving normally is on the verge of out of spec high. Spec @ warm idle = 4.3psi, spec @ warm 3k rpm = 36 - 71...

Fuel Pressure, and oil catch can questions

Here's a routing diagram that was put together for the right way to plumb in a catch can. It's from a thread on this site, but I can't for the life of me find the thread, I just saved the picture link. Catch can goes where the compressor filter is labeled. It was also mentioned that putting a...

How many posts does it take to find out what was keeping the head in the engine bay? lol

Car didn't start right away after I washed it...??

My guess is you weren't getting enough voltage on that line. I had the same problem and bought a replacement bosch starter (I know, should have got a toyota, but I didn't know that at the time), and I got this little pamphlet with it...

    3UR-FE swap?

That would be a heck of a lot of work just to do an engine swap.

    same brakes?

I would agree with Poodles. Did a google on the part number (which is just pads, no discs) and everyone else lists those under the A80 chassis, not the A70.

Things to check: Supply/return fuel lines Wiring that runs down and in between the intake manifold runners Coolant hose to TB running through intake manifold Coolant hoses at the back of the head If it's coming up a little bit, it means you've missed something to disconnect. Plain and simple.

What does it take to go E85? Advantages/Disadvantages?

fixed that for ya ;) You can let it sit as long as you want as long as you're prepared to overhaul everything it touches.

Ticking sound when driving (not engine)

^ I'd check tires very thoroughly first. I've seen someone who had an 8mm bolt stuck in the tread of their tire and they came in because of a tick noise, not a flat tire. Otherwise what everyone else has advised is definitely a good start. Check for anything on the driveshaft/axle, play in...

    Visible smoke coming from turbocharger

I'd check and see if the feed/return line on the bottom of the turbo is leaking before jumping to turbo seals. That flange is a pain to seal properly sometimes, and I know of a lot of people who have just run with it leaking a tiny bit because it such a pain to get to. When the turbo gets...

    loom running to electronic distributor

While you're at it... You can get the connector and 4 pins with large seals for the loom side, as well as a replacement CPS connector and you'll be good to go :) I had to just do all of this recently too, they get warm sitting right over the exhaust manifold and the plastic/wiring gets...

Need Help, Rough running when cold.

Well, I can tell you it's not your 180* thermostat, that won't have anything to do with how your engine is running unless your cooling system somehow effects the inside of your combustion chamber, in which case, you have other issues ;) Stock is 190*F if I'm not mistaken. What is "very low"...

News from Jalopnik New Supra? UPDATED INFO from JalopniK

But they already went V8 with that.... I'm pretty sure Toyota doesn't use any I6's in any of their platforms anymore and haven't for at least 5 or 6 years now if I'm not mistaken (ended with the IS300 2JZ-GE?). I would guess either V6 or V8. Maybe grab the engine out of the IS-F, but I don't...

    Hks fcd

Boost controllers only turn boost up, they can't turn boost down. What a boost controller does is it restricts the vacuum line running to the waste gate actuator so the waste gate opens up later. So your waste gate actuator may only be seeing 7-8 psi but in reality the rest of the system is at...
