    Emilio's NewRedSupra

Well, this thread is going to take a little bit of a turn... Following along the "just drive it" theme, I attended the "Powercruise" at Brainerd International Raceway this weekend. Event Website: http://www.powercruise.com/?country=us&site=brainerd&page=main I had a ball driving around the...

Thanks! I'm enjoying the car too much right now to worry about these "upgrades", lol. I think bigger changes will be happening in winter when I don't have the urge to drive the car all the time :)

City vs. Highway is the biggest difference. There are two roadtrips in my data - in late April Early May and then also this one in July. The trans-Canada highway also has a speed limit of 90 kph, which translates to roughly 55mph. I didn't want to speed, since speeding fines are stiff, ($10k for...

Funny you should mention it! I have a fuelly page that I track my mileage on: http://www.fuelly.com/driver/emiliorescigno/supra-3 (I averaged 25 on this last trip)

Took the car on a trip to Canada over 4th of July weekend (haha, right?!). Drove the loop around Lake Superior, about 1,600 miles in total. Car worked great, no hiccups. The Canada side of the lake was absolutely beautiful too! Other progress: -Installed AEM Analog Gauges (Wideband and...

Need some advice on buying a supra mk3 91

91-92 Cars had color matched side molding from the factory. I doubt the car has been repainted.

Need some advice on buying a supra mk3 91

If this is going to be your only car and that's all the money you have...get something simple and reliable, like a Honda Accord. Blowing all your cash on a Supra with no money left for repairs is a fool's errand.

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

So this means I might need to divorce even more of my money and buy your driveshaft, doesn't it....

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Replace "bigger hammer" with "MKIV shell", and you can be "that guy" with the 7M Supra. Also, driveshaft? Rear end?

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Mildly out of control indeed! (How is this going to fit?)

Quick Update: I got a few new odds & ends installed, hatch weatherstripping, hood weatherstripping, and cleaned/shampoo'd the carpet. I was having a slight miss under idle and light acceleration, which I traced back to bad wiring for the IS300 coils. New connectors are ordered and should...

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Updates! Because Steve's internet is all broken and stuff... Had a dyno day - 788 horsepower to the wheels! (Technical max was 806 to the wheels, but had to be dialed back to keep the tune safe) Then, the 3-4 shift sleeve cracked in half....

    What is your supras name?

Funny, as of all the cars I've owned, the Supra(s) are the only ones that HAVEN'T gotten nicknames: 1991 Corolla Sedan - "Guido" 1991 Corolla Coupe - "Popeye" (one of the headlights was stuck up) 1993 Saturn - "Shithead" 1996 Honda Accord - "Bella" 1987 Ford F-250 Diesel - "The General" 1990...

Tookwik's 7M-GTE COP ignition mod w/ stock electronics...pics and writeup

I'd think that's obvious enough...the problem is even the shortest wire is too long.

A little update - I installed a new TTR lip, through the grapevine from Rob (92nsx)'s old car. It looks pretty spiffy if you ask me, though I haven't gotten to installing the brake ducts on it yet. After racing off with all this progress after getting the car, I really need to take a...

Tookwik's 7M-GTE COP ignition mod w/ stock electronics...pics and writeup

Hey everyone. I just recently did this mod to my car, and there's one aspect that's really frustrating me. Right now I have (what I believe to be) stock IS300 wires, and the wire from the coil on cylinder 3 to cylinder 4 is too long, and has to snake around aimlessly. Is there any option for an...

I'm 95% sure the radiator cap was to blame. I stopped losing coolant after about Colorado, and temps haven't spiked again. Once home in MN, I got a *real* Toyota Radiator cap, and drained out all the nasty green coolant. I ran it for about a week with just water, then did a radiator flush with a...

I think the biggest problem with classing is the exhaust. Removing your stock cat(s) moves you way up in classes. Regardless, I don't plan on going too crazy with it. If I want to get super serious about Auto-X, I might pick up an AW11 in a couple years and play with that. For now the car's...
