My aluminum driveshaft seems to make a hollow clunking noise when engaged or disengaged by the drivetrain (when stepping on the gas and letting off). Is this common? I'm tempted to zip-tie a couple of small pieces of dynamat sound deadening material on it to at least get rid of the hollow...
Thanks guys, glad you like the look! I will have the bodywork and paint properly insured, to minimize my worry while driving :) I plan to drive it every day that it is not raining, but avoiding parking downtown/parking garages, etc.
The painter said the mouldings should be repainted this...
Washed, with tire shine, in the sun! Not waxed yet, still need the painter to fix a few things, and I have to adjust the front lights a bit. But wow!!... I can't believe this is my car. :aigo: (Keep in mind, the color looks wrong on some monitors. These pics look great on my Samsung monitor...
*** EDIT: higher res pics in the sun here: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1077021&postcount=451 ***
Some quick pics for now, more to come. Good news: it drove home fine, and overall, looks pretty damn sweet:evil2:. Bad news: the rear bumper was sprayed too dark and I won't be...
I plan to drive it home tomorrow, and should be able to snap a few. Unfortunately the painter painted the mouldings too dark and will redo them, so they are off the car for now. Apparently candy paints are tricky to get all parts to match 100%.
I saw a set of windows on eBay where the guy had used black paint on the inside of the window to fill in between those dots, and then tinted the rest. I think if this was done right, it could look almost perfect.
The thing is, I was looking both ways for cars, so I could pull out, and did not see the cyclist coming in my peripheral vision. I feel the tint was a big part of it.
You guys are nuts for having your door windows that dark. I did that when I was a teenager with 30% tint and I hit and knocked over a cyclist coming down the sidewalk as I was leaving a parking lot, because I didn't see him coming.
My temperature gauge is stuck at max/hot after I installed new gauge faces(when the ignition is turned on). Also Randy tried grounding out the terminal at the thermostat and it caused the needle to jump slightly. The needle seems to be reinstalled correctly, because by hand, it only moves within...
I bought the autoloc unit but have yet to install it. I like the fact that it could tie into my alarm to roll up the windows when armed. I assume I'll need two of them to do this to both windows?
A long time ago, I recall someone saying there was a company in Canada that would create custom matched aerosol cans of paint/dye for use on the interior. He said that he sent in a sample and they matched it for him. Don't know which compony, but search/ask around for this type of service.
