This is EXACTLY what I was thinking. It's an older couple in their 40's, unlikely to drive like maniacs. And I have personally had my throttle linkage jam open causing my car to accelerate endlessly. I knew to turn off the engine, but a lady driver in her 40's may not know what to do when this...
It was virtually impossible to remove the paint off the back of the center lens. I tried all kinds of paint removing products with bad/damaging results. Poodles(SM member here) says he did it by scrubbing it off with Castrol super clean but the paint on my lens didn't budge using it. If it does...
Not to upset you, but I sold car audio for 5 years, and every co-worker agreed that the Sony car audio products sounded terrible compared to the other brands. Head units sounded dull and the speakers sounded cheap. Alpine, Pioneer, and Clarion were the best of what we sold.
An amp will sound...
That was my original plan, to have the lines join through the center lens, but I decided it would look too radical. I figure if it looks like it could be a new OEM style, then I'll be less likely to get pulled over.
No problem S.o.D. I spent a long time before choosing my layout, and went with the one I liked best.
Here's some old pics I posted in my build thread, but completed body pics will soon follow.
I'm running them at 40ma. I dimmed them because I don't want them brighter than the LED's on new OEM cars. At full brightness in the dark it leaves major dots in my vision.
These are genuine superflux from LumiLeds. They are actually way too bright and I had to dim both the park and brake lights considerably. Not sure what the base PWM frequency is, but it is running off the $10 PWM kit sold by Quickar.
On car pics are coming soon, we're just finishing up the...
It just makes sense to not suck in the blazing hot air coming off the radiator.
I am still curious about the benefits of ram air into the turbo. I'll bet it could help my 57 trim when it starts to run out of air at 6000 rpm in 3rd and 4th gear.
My build took an extremely long time and I am planning to drain and get rid of the 1/3 tank of gas that's been sitting in the tank. I believe the previous owner of my car vented the tank to atmosphere as I could ocassionally smell gas around the engine bay. I am concerned that it may have...
Raising and lowering the diff with a floor jack is very tricky. I had to build a flat stand out of 2x4's that then bolted to the top of the jack where the cup sits. It then allows you roll the diff around and adjust the height as you get read to bolt it in. I don't think I could have done it...
Has anyone built a ram air duct that feeds into a into sealed cold air box that houses the air filter? Cold air being the 1st benefit, but then having increased flow and pressure helping the turbo at highway speeds. Would there be a noticable improvement?
With my new bumper I may have room to...
If SO many people wreck their engines using the RPS 3200, how can anyone casually ignore bypassing the clutch switch? Or assume that it won't happen to them? It just makes more sense to run a less heavy pressure plate like the ACT 2600, and also not grow a huge left leg.
You may want to look at the ACT XTSS 2600 lb clutch with ACT street full-face disc. Rated to hold 522+ TQ. I'm about to install mine, and I'm hoping for smooth engagement and reasonable pedal...
Comparing with the MK4 bars, the fronts are up to 200% stiffer, but most of the rears are 250-500% stiffer than stock. What's up with that?
Maybe the stiffer and lighter Tanabe MK3 rear bar is the better choice?
