suprcharged supra but its not a 1uz

Not quite- Back in the late 80's/ early 90's the Camry shared the 3VZ-E engine (3.0 SOHC 12v turd) with the Hilux and 4Runner trucks, but in 93/94 they went to the 1MZ-FE (3.0L DOHC 24V) series of engine, where the trucks got the 5VZ-FE (3.4L DOHC 3.4L) around 96. VZ= Truck engine- less comfy...

suprcharged supra but its not a 1uz

Meh, I've driven a S/C 3.4 Taco, 4.0 FJ cruiser, and a 5.7 Sequoia. Before and after; none felt 'faster' they just got up and moved more quickly. More get-up-and-go if you would. Comparing them to a Supra wouldn't be a fair comparison because of the way the power is delivered. The Superchargers...

suprcharged supra but its not a 1uz

Nope, that's 3.4L 5VZ-FE from a Tacoma. Kinda cool to see it stuff into that engine bay. Not much power, but gobs of torque. :evil2

    End of a chapter...sad day

I'll add some personal input to Andy's suggestion: Corolla- 2003 and up. (avoid the 98-2002 bodies, IMO) I personally love the 93-97 Corollas because they're simple to work on and are pretty reliable but Andy has the right idea of "They're old" and stuff will be needed to make them really good...

Well, I guess its fairwell to the supra game for awhile :((((

The infraction was for trying to sell outside the classifieds section. Had the link not existed, there would be no problem. It's not personal, just keeping things in order :) If you want to sell any parts from the car to help you cause, make up a classifieds thread :bigthumb: (make sure it...

Time for my 7M-GTE re-build/upgrade and I have questions :)

When it comes to core/freeze/frot/whatever plugs, DO NOT cheap out. Yes its expensive, but get the OEM plugs. Aftermarket ones do not fit properly- I have firsthand experience with a friends engine that spat out a Dorman plug and it ruined his year. As for the oil pump bearings, again I have to...

help question what size turbo to use on my twin wastegate manifold???

In reality, start looking at the GT and GTX series of turbos. Billet compressor wheels are the standard nowadays, and with your split-pulse manifold you can use the sonic energy to help get a larger turbo up quicker. I am local to a guy who ran his mk4 with a TH400 on a Precision (non-billet)...

Not worried about keeping up, just being somewhere near him. :P

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

WTF is "Man Boost", Mike? lolol! In all reality, if I can come close to what Dan makes after his 2J is refreshed, I'll be very happy. I will have more head work into mine, which should theoretically put me ahead in flow, but c'mon its a JZ series, they make power at idle, LOL! Does anyone know...

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

If it all holds together I should be able to keep up with you till you come into boost D: 10's woud be sweet, but that would mean at minimum a roll bar is needed, and that means commitment to this chassis, I kinda want a dark blue sunroof one...

    Turbos standard GT35R pt6262 pt6265 pt6765

Just for some comparison, this is my 7M with its BB Comp turbo 67mm, .81 hotside. Love it, but it is a bit laggy for what most people would want. If yo do go journal 67, get a 6769- couple guys here using them with great results!

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Same as it has been for the last couple months. Have the money in hand for the head work to get done so that helps! All that has to be done: Head work/valves Machine the head and block again Rebuild the engine Twin Plate clutch Install engine and new trans Replace the heater core Make the new...

Going to be changing the heater core, just some questions before starting the job.

I'd buy th O-rings from the dealer, as well as new clips to hold them in place. O-rings are funny like that, especially the way Supra's hold them in place (with said clips) fit is very important in this case. I wish you luck, I'll be doing mine here in a little bit here. There are lots of...

    gas tank drain plug?

First thing you do is disconnect the fuel line and direct it into a bucket. (big hose and gas cans help here) Go to the diagnostic connector under the hood and connect FP to B+ and turn the key on. That turns the fuel pump on. Watch the gas pump stream, once it starts to peter out pull the pin...
