JE piston ring sets are out of stock! can i use other brands?

I'd put money on them not stocking them, but if JE got an order for rings I bet they could make a set for ya :P I suspect the same was the case when I ordered my rings, I just never cared what JE's site said- I needed rings so they got ordered, however long that would take!

    Best automotive related thread fail?

That one was always so funny, until I met people who are like that. Then it made me feel sad and ill.

I guess you can always remove material rather than have it be too thin...interesting!

JE piston ring sets are out of stock! can i use other brands?

You can order a set through Suprasport, it just takes some time- my set took 3-4 weeks to arrive from JE when Tyler ordered 'em up! Well worth the wait, IMO.

Design Flaw? Needless to say not happy even if it isnt.

Def a manifold clearance issue, rather than an issue on Canton's end. I have seen 4 different manifolds on 7M's (stock, my RR, a handmade tubular, and one of the CX racing ones), and I know my RR and the stocker would not touch the canton. Strange leak

The cam caps need a little rtv on the corners between the seal and valve cover gasket, becomes a small seepage if its not assembled with the sealant on.

My OEM valves had 7M cast into them, so I'd guess they're stockers.

    GReddy MHG Users Question?

The black is the viton. As for brake quiet/copper spray/etc there are threads discussing it- iirc, all of them eat away the viton and weaken the entire gasket. (don't quote me on that)

    Want to start drifting

I suggest going to the Elko Raceway MAP drift days this summer- cheap entry, no chance of getting pulled over, decent time to practice, not to mention how many 'better' drifters are there. Good stuff!

The new build! Ultimate 10 second street car!

As compared to your stereotypical N2O, 454ci blown whatchamahoozit old-school drag car? Yes, yes they are- very much so. As compared to a geo Metro engine- then no.

The new build! Ultimate 10 second street car!

Rocket surgery: That means I should keep poking it until it works, right? In that case, I am Dr. Rocket!\ Devin, I wish you the best of luck in getting the power to the ground, I had a bud up here in MN who ran a mk4 with a th400 manual shift and it omnom'd so much power it wasn't funny...

    What did I bend?

Pic 1 is the rear toe control arm pic 2 is a rear sway bar link, which attaches to the toe control arm pic 3 is the traction control arm/trailing arm pic 4 looks to be the knuckle, but I can't tell what arm/bolt has broken off- (perhaps the other side toe control arm's ball joint end?)
