is there a way to make the stock cooler a constant

I believe what the OP is asking is if there is a way to make the stock oil cooler run full flow. If it is, would doing so provide an advantage. Well, if you replace the stock oil filter housing with one which can provide full flow to the oil cooler, then yes, you can make it do so. There is no...

Changing my head gasket, me asking for your help while doing this

I thought people got rod knock after a BHG because acidic coolant mixes with the oil and eats away at the bearings. Probably also people let crap get into the oiling system where it also erodes the bearings. Either way, an oil change with minimal runtime after major engine work is never a waste...

Changing my head gasket, me asking for your help while doing this

that will have the crank perfectly timed to the cams, but you still need to get the CPS installed correctly.

    '87 7M-GTE teardown/rebuild.

The Arias pistons were $680 USD. Not absolutely convinced about the 9:1 compression, but I don't think that it'll pose a problem. I'm pretty sure that it's not going to limit me under 400WHP. :) Everything is (finally) done at the shop. They have bearings for the crank at .020 under for mains...

    upgrading stock speakers

The pull latch stays on the door, but the handle itself (the part you grip to close the door, and has the power window controls on it) has to come off for the door panel to come off.

clutch question about w58 anddrive shaft question

I was under the impression that the stock clutch discs for either W58 or R154 were the same part, though the flywheel, pressure plate, throwout bearing etc are all different. Given that, I fail to see how using an R154 clutch disc can make a difference with the rest of the components being the...

turbo pressure sensor and other stuff help

Looks like a short in the sensor. If the car is "mildly modified" then you should stick with stock heat range. NGK plugs are generally good, I wouldn't expect to see problems with them. I don't think that I'd go with colder plugs unless you're pushing more than 15 lbs boost myself.

    Piston decision.....

It depends, I guess. My .020 Arias pistons called for an 83.49mm bore.

Ensuring a straight steering wheel after rack replacement

For 15 degrees, you should do some adjustment under the hood. For 5 degrees or less, I'd just make the adjustment at the steering wheel. I like the wheel to be straight, particularly the 3 spoke wheel, since I rest my hands on the top of the pair of spokes a lot.

    upgrading stock speakers

The 2 screws under the grille complete the set to hold the door handle on, so you have to remove them to get the door handle off. The lock bezel clips to the metal backing where the door lock switch is. If you don't remove it, you can't remove the door panel. I've removed the door panels on my...

    Piston decision.....

I know that the Probe forged pistons are slightly over stock size (something like .006") for a "hone to fit" sizing. The rest all were at 0.5mm (0.020") over.

    Name My Rear End

If it was an MA70 turbo, it had LSD. Mine, being an NA Canadian model had the 4.300:1 LSD. I was unaware that the MA70 was ever sold with a 2 pinion differenital.

    Oil Drain Plug Gasket

FWIW, the mount for the oil filter will take the one for the older Ford V8 engines. Ford's part number FL1A (Fram PH8A) if you want a larger cannister. I'm sure you can get these with much larger filtration elements in it as well. Not sure how this would fit in the stock location on the 7M-GTE...

    upgrading stock speakers

The triangular panel does come off, but you can't pull the speaker from behind there. You will have to remove the entire door panel, but it's not like it's that much work. 2 covered screws at the front, 5 screws along the bottom, 2 covered screws in the door handle, 1 under the latch, 2 under...

Changing my head gasket, me asking for your help while doing this

Incorrect. The oil pump drive shaft is driven by the timing belt. This probably doesn't make a difference for removing the crank pulley, since GENERALLY the crank pulley being on means that the timing belt is also on.

    Weisco Piston Clearance Recommendation

Stay at the recommended clearance. A thicker HG will make some difference in compression ratio, but without knowing what's been milled from your block and head, it's not possible to calculate your final static compression ratio.

Changing my head gasket, me asking for your help while doing this

The valve cover bolts are 6mm by 1mm thread pitch. 25mm length is good, from memory. Many people use allen key head screws to replace these, since they look nicer, but I've used regular 10mm hex head cap screws and they're just fine. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THEM. It's actually pretty easy to break...

    7mge block and 7mgte block

The NA block doesn't have oil feed for turbo. The bosses for the front and rear knock sensors aren't tapped, but the center one is (Which it is not on the GTE block) The turbo oil return isn't there either, but that's less of an issue. As mentioned, the NA block doesn't have the bosses for the...

Changing my head gasket, me asking for your help while doing this

Good luck with that crank pulley bolt. Some dumb (expletive deleted) used thread-lock compound on mine. I ended up needing a 7' fence post on the end of a breaker bar. I was literally chinning myself (I weigh 230 lbs) and bouncing on the end of a steel post (Which also weighed probably 30-40...
