Yep it's normal. Above 1500 RPM if you let off the throttle the ECU cuts the injectors, probably as a fuel saving measure. Your ARF gauge just can't go past 20, so that's what it shows when there is no fuel.

The primary purpose of the EGR valve is the reduction of NOx. So if your going to pass an emissions test that has a low NOx requirement you will need the EGR system. But for the EGR to function you will need the EGR valve, cooler, VSV, and USDM ECU.

This. The Mine's ECU is programed off of a JDM ECU, which has no provisions for EGR operation. Your EGR isn't functioning because the ECU doesn't know it's there.

That's where my aristo with stock twins on factory ECU idles. No issues here, as soon as I start to go positive on the pressure side I shoot straight toward 11.0.
