    Tires

I love my Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires! I can say that through rain and snow the performance has been stellar. The aggressive thread pattern is nice, too. I couldn't be happier with them.

Police perception amongst the general public.

Sig worthy material right there! I've read this thread a lot and thought I would pass along a good LEO experience. I had just picked up my shiny perfectly working (GASP!) Supra from my buddy's shop. I was just pulling onto the on ramp for the highway and noticed that a State Trooper had...

    The (old) Official Gun Thread.

That's the main issue. The availability of Tritium night sights for Taurus models with dovetail front sights is what was disappointing. I think the 700 series I can get them and possibly the new 800 series. The 800's come with Novak sights and according to Novak, they have tritium options. I...

Has anybody used "Nitesiters"? They are a stick on glow in the dark night sight that you don't have to replace the sights for. They are not tritium and require exposure to a light source for a little bit before they are effective, but has anyone actually used them? MDC: I'm going to see if I...

    The (old) Official Gun Thread.

MDC: Biting may not be the best term, but if you take your right hand and make a spread out your thumb and index finger it's the spot on the thumb knuckle just below the "V" that was getting rubbed by the frame just under the slide. Sorry, no pics...my camera and I are not colocated at the...

    The (old) Official Gun Thread.

I rented a Glock 17 and it's not my preference. I have nothing against Glock, I like how they look and I liked the trigger feel, but with my hand and grip didn't work with the gun. When fired, part of the weapon would rub skin off my shooting hand thumb. Not good. I tried adjusting my grip...

    The (old) Official Gun Thread.

Man, I was all set ready to set up purchases for some new Taurus autos and it looks like you not only can't order them with night sights, but the aftermarket doesn't support the new Mil Pro pistols, either. I'm really not a fan of the the Straight-8 sights and it doesn't look like you can...

    Climate Control questions

Better yet, I found the cover for it! I thought it had departed the vehicle, but found it under the passenger seat after some searching with a flashlight. It's all good now!

Here's something I've been working on...decided to "freshen up" my 10+ year old PT99 by getting some new Hogue grips and having JDub coat the slide... Before: After: John does some seriously awesome work and I'll be using his services again in the future I'm sure! The contrast isn't as much...

    Climate Control questions

Wish I had a good junkyard to pull from. I'll just order it on Monday. Thanks for the part #! It's seems a little odd to me that it would say that too much sunlight means you don't really want hot air. You'd think they would let the driver decide that. However, it might be useful to others...

    Climate Control questions

I have an interesting question about the climate control system. My Supra's system was working quite well (heating, cooling, A/C, etc.) until just recently. I noticed that in order to get warm air out of the vents, I had to turn it up all the way to 85 when in MANUAL mode. Anything below that...

Copy that and thanks! After this, my hatch should be leak free!

    Leaky hatch? Look here!

I know it's a little old, but still really good info here. Grim, are these bolts the four that run across the bottom, underneath the glass? If so, what exactly separates? I don't have my deep well sockets right now to figure it out... :(

Messed up my parking brake...remove entirely?

^^^ Did that. It didn't fully let go and I was being stubborn and that's how I messed up one of them. Not sure what happened to the second one.

    Targa Suports.

I absolutely LOVE my WeezlWing! One of the best parts I ever bought for the car! If you can get one, I would if I were you!

Messed up my parking brake...remove entirely?

NAPA actually stocked the parts I needed so everything is reassembled as Toyota intended! I would recommend maybe stocking up on some of these things before you tear your rear brakes apart. It'll save time later!

Messed up my parking brake...remove entirely?

First of all, the car is a 1989 Turbo model and I was replacing all the rotors/pads today since it was time and ran into some trouble. Two of the rods on the rear that go through springs in order to hold the parking brake pads into place underneath the rear rotors stretched beyond...

    dammit not again...help please

It's possible, though not a guarantee, that you could jiggle your CPS wiring as well. When mine wouldn't start randomly, I'd move the wire pack a little and it would light. Like anything, it gets old and brittle. The CPS is not hard to replace however if its your culprit.

    maft pro mounting location

Standby... This is what I did. I would also argue that it does still act as a gauge. The sensor monitor page allows four visuals. I watch Aux1, intake temp, boost pressure, and load. The wires pass through the cabin temp place and on to the factory harness.
