I also had the MSD DIS 4 before trying the HKS DLI. No luck there either. I could run fine with the supplied bypass in, but as soon as you cracked the throttle with the bypass out it would stumble all over the place and not get past 5 mph. Now the tech support was awesome and I worked with one...
Kenny,
I've been following your thread on FTT with interest. I'll probably have some questions for you later. As for ignition, I have the HKS DLI. I did back to back dyno runs with it plugged and unplugged and there was no difference at 19 psi a few years back.
I'm not sure that it...
Jack up the rear and see if the rear wheels spin the same direction. If they do, you have an LSD...
Or post your VIN or see if you can find the VIN decoder. I "think" the VIN will ID the LSD...
Or look for the LSD sticker on the diff...
Thanks, Ian! Pretty sure there isn't an O-ring on there which would create the problem! At least it's a two dollar fix!
Quickly followed by me smacking myself in the head... :)
I suppose the O-ring. I have a slight leak from that area and I think the CPS is the culprit. Is the "seal" the part behind the large gear then? If the O-ring just slips over, does it rest against the CPS body and the cylinder head to prevent leaks?
Thanks, Ian!
So I want to replace the O-ring on the CPS and the Toyota dealer can get the O-ring, but not the dowel and gear. They say the dowel and gear are listed as "non reusable parts" (which the TSRM says, too), but are no longer available. So the question is has anybody replaced this O-ring and...
It was actually a press that he had. He was also the guy that installed the A-duct for me. I'm going back to see if he can roll my fenders some as well. He's one of those guys that can make a car shell from scratch out of an English wheel. Very talented guy.
Here is mine. Modified by a local hot rodder. He used a press and it only cost me $48 for the vents. I've been really happy with it. I've had better A/C, cooler temps (using a real water temp gauge and not the stocker), no heat soak issues, and they are far enough away that water and...
It's also not the ONLY reason, but appears to be the case here. If your A/C drain tube isn't stuck back through the hole in the firewall, that water will also make your passenger side wet. But it seems like you have the coolant leak, so there goes the easy solution...
The steel will be heavier than the aluminum, but one thing to keep in mind is the driveshaft critical speed which will depend on the wall thickness and such. Do a search on that and you'll find some good info.
Well, as one of our vet techs put it, we've had a hard year. Today while on a short walk outside our Great Dane had a heart attack. We've now lost all three of our dogs in 7 months. These pups have been in our lives since we have been married. They were truly members of our family and led...
Dude! I'm glad you guys are okay! I didn't see this until yesterday. Sucks about the car, but I'll echo the other sentiments here and say I'm glad you two walked away from it.
I'm sure you'll be able to find another vehicle that needs an injection of horsepower!
I don't even know how to type this, but thanks everyone for your support. Today really was one of the hardest days of my life. We decided to have her put to sleep today and we just got back. I'm pretty much a wreck. I know it'll pass with some time, but I do remember what an awesome pair of...
DT and John, thank you. That's another reason I was hoping you could work your magic with the hard drive was because a lot of pictures of the dogs are on there, too.
The other thing I love about these guys is how loyal they are. I sometimes wondered if they would be the type to defend the...
Well, it's been a rather hard year for my family. First of all, I know other people have lost more than what I have, and I feel for them as well. Before my wife and I were able to have our own children, we had dogs. Three of them, in fact. Turns out a Jeep Cherokee isn't as big as we thought...
Oh, sure, everybody wants to be the pointy-nosed pilot! :)
Just kidding. If a C-5 had afterburners, it'd probably be an EPA violation, but I'd use 'em! Plus, we don't worry too much about GLOC'ing in turns...just spilling the coffee.
