    Wheel Fitment & Question Thread

Maybe, maybe not. I haven't really been considering the inner fender lip, because none of the stock metal is there on my car. The entire purpose of my calculator is to fit rims to my car, using my measurements...though looking back, there's a few people running 255/275 with and without a roll...

    Wheel Fitment & Question Thread

Sounds like it'll fit fine when you drop it, on the wider rims. I'd wait for someone else to confirm, because I've never had stock fenders, but the width and offset is in the right neighborhood. The skinnier ones will be ~6mm closer to the hub on both sides, so just roll the fenders a little...

    God I hate People

I'm with TE72's general train of thought. People movers and grocery getters...wouldn't care much. But our cars are special; they were built so that Toyota could get into Group A, and we have unique sportscars because of it. They're part of automotive history, too...at the time our pre89s were...

    240 sr20 and mk3 1jz having a little fun

Sweet....yeah, I see oncoming traffic that could hide the 5-0 from you, but same direction is clear. Having fun is having fun ;) Makes me wonder what I'll be able to do to my friend's 240 with my 7m when he finishes his turbo KA24 build...none of us around here are big on sr20's. We have one...

    Gurley's 92 Teal 2JZ Project

Ooooh...fresh harness. Can't wait to see how the wire tuck goes on that. Are you going to pull the motor to do it?

Project Lex (aka: Teh Bean) '92 SC300

Lolz, it does. I'm impressed with how steady the torque and power curves are, and how swollen the torque curve is, honestly...now I'm reconsidering my upgrade path to include a Borg Warner turbo. Power delivery on that beast has gotta be smooth as eggs. Great job, dude!

    NorCal Supras!

I would absolutely roll the BM1 out there, no driver door wing, crushed rear overfender and all...if going over 45 didn't do further damage to the bodywork. Once the glass is buttoned up and I'm saving for wheels, you can bet your ass I'll be out there.

I was trolling Ebay and look what i found!

Talk about a derailed thread... :D AFAIK, it's not the precision measurements/machining and special bearing materials and coatings that make F1 stuff retarded expensive; it's the research dedicated to finding the right ones that really jacks up the price. Don't worry though...something similar...

Reputable car shop to install Viper 5901 alarm in Sydney

A shop should be around 4 to 8 hours of work, perhaps less, if they do alarms/car audio regularly. Hourly rate can vary widely across a city, let alone continents, so I'd have no idea where to get it done or how much a shop would charge. Here, Best Buy has standard install included in the retail...

Reputable car shop to install Viper 5901 alarm in Sydney

If you're any good with wiring, it's pretty simple to install yourself...everything either goes to the ignition harness or into the body electronics junction in the driver's kick panel (with pre-89 wiring, some things are a little different). I'd have done some more research; the same brain used...

    painted intercooler

IJ, how different would the shades end up? Sounds kinda interesting.

    painted intercooler

This is what I was getting at. Anodizing an intercooler would get pricey, I'm sure. But it would definitely look fantastic.

    painted intercooler

Not to any significant or noticeable extent. If you want to be particular, you could soda blast the paint off of it. With ~50psi of air compressor and a blowgun attachment, you can DIY your own soda blaster for next to nothing. Works great for prepping parts to be (re)painted.

Project Lex (aka: Teh Bean) '92 SC300

Eh, it all depends on the bumper. On my widebody, even the giant 5" diesel tip (its the same diameter as the muffler can) doesn't look out of place. 3.5" round tips should fill out those cutouts just perfect, though. Something oval would work wonderfully, too...4" wide, 3" tall, maybe?

New to moderating - warning, may get technical

Site's running gazelle, with some customizations. I'm not sure what, but that's what our admin told me over IRC. Honestly, there's only one or two staff PMs per week so far, and I seem to be getting the hang of it after that first rough patch. The toolbox only looks intimidating; I created a new...

Adjusting the stance of my 88 MKIII - suggestions?

I saw those on fleabay a couple days ago; I thought pretty much the exact same thing. I even found em with free shipping, but I think the problem would be getting them serviced if you blow a damper, unless you know a place locally or can do it yourself. Aaaaand, I just watched their S14...

New to moderating - warning, may get technical

So, I just got promoted on another site I belong to, and I've noticed a lot of stuff...like how I can see every PHP/SQL query since I last loaded a page. I'm also in charge of verifying anything that gets uploaded to our site content wise...making sure video is in a standard resolution...

    Question to the wide-rims gurus

Mmmm...wide wheels. There's a couple options; like hvyman said, there's a handful of three piece rims out there that the face can be flipped on. Basically, you disassemble the rim, take the face and turn it around, then clean and polish the ever loving crap out of the back side, which is now...

    A Teens mk3 build,15 years old

No words, just four letters: TSRM. Toyota Supra Repair Manual. Read it, refer to it, and if you have an iPhone, bookmark the URL on your home screen. Android device, there's an app in the marketplace for it. INFINITELY more useful than asking for advice in your own build thread. Every nut, bolt...
