Wiring the 2jz into the ma70 chassis

You should have two connectors on your Aristo ECU a larger one that has two parts and a screw in the middle, and a smaller one. If your ECU is missing either of these plugs then yes you will need to source one.

Wiring the 2jz into the ma70 chassis

First let me say this, what you see below is a half finished project. I had originally planned to include wiring for both MKIV/Aristo 2JZ-GTE's in to both the pre and post 89 chassis. But I never reached a point where I felt comfortable with the way the info was edited and presented. I wanted...

Wiring the 2jz into the ma70 chassis

It works for me, though google chrome gives me a warning that the site may be infected with malware, but when you go to the diagnostics page it states that malware has not been detected on the site in the last 90 days. So proceed at your own risk. 3. Yes, I took the time to fully delete the...

How Much It Cost You To Do Your Swap?

Didn't do anything with the rear diff other than fresh fluid. I'm pretty partial to the stock sequential setup, so I kept that, though it did require some new plastic bits that had gotten brittle to get the system working properly again. Parts that could only be sourced from Toyota for small...

How Much It Cost You To Do Your Swap?

Aristo 2JZ Once I had completed the swap to a degree I felt comfortable with enough to call complete, and prior to any modifying, I was kissing just over 6.5K. This was with replacing worn parts with new ones, old hoses with fresh ones, and crumbling connectors with solid ones. Doing all the...

Aristo 2JZ Swap. Will not Boost in 1st gear

I can definitely see more than 8 PSI in first gear. Double check all of your intercooler pipes, don't just look at them, physically try to separate them. Next in your other gears do you have the mid-range fall off point where the second turbo comes online. If not you may be trying to spool the...

    2011 Mustang GT

Call me Mr. DouchBag then. I love the Ecoboost. From an engineering stand point all versions of the motor are incredible. When a 3.5liter V6 can have 420ft/lbs of torque at 2500rpm, and 90% of which is available between 1700-5000rpm. Throw some of that tech on the 5.0 and add an IRS, and I'll...

Has anybody used a Duralast clutch setup?

Not sure, but Toyota does list it as a separate part. http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/EPC/291410/catalog.aspx?F=3102&P=1

    2JZ-FSE into a Mk3??

Yeah it's all speculation until somebody does it. I'm more interested how far I can take DI using all of it's advantages. If you add in port injection you have to make some sacrifices on the DI. That might let you make higher power, but you can do that with a regular 2JZ. I want a big fat torque...

    2011 Mustang GT

Ok, you're pink, but I ain't touch'n that head. :p I'll commend Ford on how far they have been able to take such a technology. In terms of suspension geometry it really is at a disadvantage on a track where every tenth of a second matters. But they still remain very competitive. That said I'll...

Has anybody used a Duralast clutch setup?

I had a friend that upgraded the factory clutch pedal return spring(located on the side of pedal assy.) to achieve a stiffer feel, he didn't like how soft it was either. Though I'm not sure what spring he used to replace it, or how exactly he did it.

    heater core control?

Not trying to be an ass or anything but you really should know what something does before you disable, bypass, or remove it from your car, that Toyota put there for a reason. That said, no real harm here. The primary function of that valve is to keep excess heat out of the cabin. It helps...

    2JZ-FSE into a Mk3??

For me yes it would defeat the purpose. If you went with port injection for boost you would have to run lower a compression to keep from detonating as you lose many of the advantages to DI that allow for the higher ratios. To overcome the fuel issue you run more fuel pressure. And once you...

Has anybody used a Duralast clutch setup?

I currently have a Duralast clutch/PP on my 2JZ/R154(which is the 7MGTE clutch/PP on a 1JZ flywheel) MKIII. I had only planned for it to be a temp clutch but so far it's preformed beautifully. I'm at ~320 ft/lbs and it hasn't had any issues, but I'm not very abusive on clutches either. As far as...

    2JZ-FSE into a Mk3??

Pretty much every piece of this engine except the block and crank would have to be ordered from Toyota Japan, if replacements were needed. With very few known parts crossing over and being able to be ordered state side.

Anyone knows how to translate the aristo schematics???HELP

What exactly are you looking for? There is not direct translation of the schematic that I know of, how ever there are several writeup listing where each pin goes. Like ENDLESS stated, As far as the Engine sided of the ECU goes it is similar however there are a few differences(wire color and a...

    Ford Expedition 1, Me 0

Scary Dave, just......scary. Well, I'm half way through this project, and after examining the plugs they show signs of running lean. White colored with excessive gap due to accelerated electrode wear. It has shown uniform across all the cylinders. I believe this is caused by a leak at the elbow...

    Is the 7MGTE J-tube a restriction?

Not sure how your mechanic came to the conclusion a restriction on the return side would cause a lean problem. If anything it would go rich due to the higher pressures that are created due to restriction on the return side. Next, while yes the stock FPR is a 1:1 regulator, it lacks...

    Is the 7MGTE J-tube a restriction?

A good rising rate FPR with a ratio of 1:1 is recomended such as this one from driftmotion: http://store.driftmotion.com/static/i-aeromotive13109.php The also sell a full FPR kit for the 7MGTE Next your baseline pressures should be set as per the TSRM...

    Is the 7MGTE J-tube a restriction?

Well, I don't think the j-tube is causing your lean spot. But if your going to run the 2JZ pump the j-tube will become a restriction due to the increased flow. However the real fuel issue I see here is the factory 7MGTE FPR. You need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to correctly use the...
