That's the truth. I recently picked up another supra that had power steering fluid in it and the thing sounded like it was ready to grind the bearings. Flushed and filled with ATF and it returned to being smooth and quiet.
Very nice and meticulous work Jeff. I love seeing people take the time to do a job properly and with their own two hands.
A question for you. I'm not familiar with the adhesive dam. I get the purpose of it but how do you use it. Does it adhere to the glass, with something like double sided...
Your way makes sense. But I've never known Reg Riemer to dissimate factually incorrect info. I recall JJ mentioning some thing about this at one time. It would be nice if he could pop in here and confirm or deny.
Fuel cut doesn't happen at a set PSI. It happens at a set volume of air. So denser air(cooler, or at sea level,) will cause fuel cut to happen at a lower PSI value.
The newer autometers have become more reliable, but the older ones were unreliable. The reading would vary almost every time, so...
No, by itself the FCD is very dangerous. It needs a host of supporting piggy backs to operate properly. It clamps the signal at a set level, past that the engine has no idea how much more air is entering the engine, and therefore can't add the correct fuel to compensate. Using the FCD with out...
I suppose it's possible over time. Reg Riemer does confirm that the TCCS indeed use stored data from closed loop operation to modify open loop maps.
Taken from:http://suprasonic.org/pub/SONIC/MA70/TNSTCCS2.txt
But I'm not sure how long it would take the TCCS to compensate for the extra 90cc's...
At start-up the engine is in a open-loop operating mode and not incorporating any feedback from the O2 sensor for fuel trim. It won't start making adjustments until it reaches operating temps and switches into closed-loop mode.
I kind of figured that would be the case. Considering how much time people actually spend off boost, I imagine it can become a significant concern. Logically it makes sense, but I haven't seen any hard info on the matter. But i'm more apt to take your word for it than JohnQ public.
The stock...
There is also the theory that a front facing manifold forces more air into the back cylinders than the front, due to flow characteristics, causing them to run leaner, and hotter as a result. So you have to tune for the back cylinders, and you have uneven power across the crankshaft amplifying...
Very true, the FCD clamps the air flow signal right below fuel cut, irregardless of how much more air enters the engine, the signal will continue to indicate that it is the same as when it hit the set point. What this means is that as you push the boost past fuel cut, the TCCS has no idea how...
It should be ok. Even the TSRM tests solenoid function by connecting it to a battery. However or does warn that the test should be conducted in the shortest time possible.

I think there is a fundamental misunderstanding as to why Reg chose the 550 injectors for this mod. It was not to have bigger injectors for more duty cycle head room. It was to have an comparable increase in fuel flow to match the increase in air flow. This preserved the scaling for the fuel...
Check again. Fuel Cut is triggered when a set volume of air moves past the air flow meter in a given amount of time, hence the term flow. There is no sensor that measures manifold pressure and triggers fuel cut at a certain PSI. If you are hitting fuel cut, it means that the set amount of air...
First tip, ditch the Haynes manuel, they screwed it up so bad on our cars that it usually makes a situation worse by using it. Second, that light is affectionately known as the birdcage light, it means your bird has escaped. That or your coolant overflow bottle is low. Find out why.
Concerning your second question, even though the site lists both the pumps as for a turbo, at the bottom of each description you can see one is for the 7MGE and one is for the 7MGTE. So one is for the turbo and one for the non-turbo. I'm unclear on what the functional differences are between the...
And that only part of it. You do your 18 hour day getting a few minute breather hear and there to RUN down to the galley and scarf down as many calories as you can as fast as you can because you burn them off quick. So that you can get your ass back up to the flight deck to let the next guy run...
