Also, like IJ has said before in other threads that sometimes the balencer hub slips off the center part of the balencer or was not always set at true 0' when it was made. It may be off a few degrees stock so you need to verify its at true 0' to start with.

I would not say it is definately a fuel issue. From what you say about the "miss like there compresion is leaking out" Check the timing belt to see if it has jumped a tooth or if it is broken and you do not have compression.

They just get old and some are made better than others. I get my thermostats from the toyota dealer only as i have had similar problems with cheap t-stats not working or sticking.
Also the dealer tstat is twice the weight of one from the autoparts store which in my mind means better quality.
SCE Gaskets has a new headgasket that has metal O-rings already in the headgasket. They say it holds the highest hp? Not for our rigs yet though...

Shelf life to me means parked in a garage?? In that case, it should not matter if it is turbo or not. I use my car almost daily. I put about 15k a year on it and I have 162k on it now. I would not be suprised to see it go another 100k on the motor and on the chassis? Check back in 25 yrs...

I agree with shawn, On my car i have a seperate wire on the positive battery terminal that feeds power to the part of the ignition system, That wire corroded up on mine and would not energize the alternator.
