How bad are my cylinder walls?

This was just a "performance shop" or "specialty shop" that never took my parts to a machinist and put it together hoping I'd drop it in my car and it will fall apart so I'd bring it back to him for more money and time. I've found out he's had the same vehicles there for an average of 3 years...

How bad are my cylinder walls?

I went to the DA 5 months ago for theft of my engine since none of my parts were around (probably were hidden in the shop). I see the crosshatching and figured it was the leftover hone because it's not that great of a job. I am. I'm saying that I will put the old cover on the new block to get...

How bad are my cylinder walls?

I found a stock 7M longblock locally and plan to bore it .020 over to keep my custom Wiseco pistons with ceramic tops and moly coated skirts and deck it for my MHG. I figure I'll bolt the back timing/coolant plate to the new block to take off the same material from the new block and use the same...

How bad are my cylinder walls?

I just got my engine back from the worst shop on the planet after almost 10 months for a simple new set of bearings, crower rods, new rings, and a rehone. The pictures do not look like a rehone was done to me and there is vertical scoring. It looks to me as though I'll need to overbore.

I've heard of it off coloradoracing.net and last year it was at a Sonic off 94th and Federal I believe. I don't know if there still is one around Alameda and Federal anymore. My car should be back on the road in a few weeks with my Holset again.

When did Ohio reinstate e-check? I've been gone for just over a year and they got rid e-check a few years ago because it was costing the state too much money.

why am i adding lots of fuel in the top end?

You should be pretty close to 500rwhp on 550's and 18psi with your 63mm and you're still pulling fuel? What's your fuel pressure at idle? I was looking to ditch my 550's for 680's and run bigger feed/drain lines with another Walbro to be safe with my SP63.

E-brake shoes are the same as a Toyota Sienna 04-08?

I picked up a set of SRB 851 that also include the Sienna and Highlander but when I inspected the pad material thickness on the new shoes, they came out to 3.0mm instead of the TSRM 2.5mm thickness. I'm wondering if I the break-in/bedding will take off that 0.5mm or I can safely adjust it.

    Oil pressure gauge help

Well, yes but it's a 12v source that's only on when your accessories or ignition is on. A popular 12v source is your cigarette lighter.

Let the machine shop tell you how much you need to bore and order pistons after you find out.

    advice

Make this your new bible, http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/default.aspx and be very very picky on where you bring your engine. I've experienced a machine shop that took 2.5 weeks for overbore and rebuild to a "performance shop" that took almost 10 months for less work than the...

    60 or 67mm for 1jz

15-20psi doesn't exactly help determine what turbo you want/need unless you state a desired horsepower for that pressure. Flow rates at those pressures differ between what size turbo you choose. Start with what you plan to use this car for i.e. auto-x, drag, street etc. and how much horsepower...

mk3 newb with plans in action

Welcome! I used to live in both Dayton and Cincinnati a little over a year ago and drove mine around. Join Ohiosupras.org if you want to meet other ohio supra owners. I accidentally went to one of their meets and got hooked on the Supra from then on and have owned two MKIII's.

    Preperation for a long trip

5qt Oil, 5qt Coolant, JB weld, and keep your eyes on your oil pressure and coolant temp gauges. I also carry spare -10 AN oil lines, nylon oil pressure gauge hose/fittings, fuses, teflon tape, zip ties, duct tape, paper towels, and metric tools in the trunk. I sometimes think about adding a...

    turbo heat shield or wraps

Think of heat like current flowing through a circuit. Thermal wraps/coatings act as a resistor slowing down the heat transfer and is related to time. The greater the difference in temperature between the hot object and the cold object, the greater the heat transfer (which will decline as more...

6 puck or Full face clutch?

Remove the shift boot interior piece and it's just 4 bolts to remove the shifter. When you pull out your shifter, check the plastic bushing on the end that goes into the linkages for excess movement. I had to replace mine and went with a $12 Marlin Crawler piece off Driftmotion. I think he just...
