The main difference you will notice is the engine will rev smother with the 7M crank in there and will will not be able to rev it quite as his as with a pre '89 supra.
I think Big A. said one time that it was, "a diaper for when the supra decides to shit itself", meaning that if something happens to the cooling system, the undertray will help keep this cooler for a little while longer, giving you enough time to pull over and fix your shit ;).
Mines not on, and I don't know how it bolts up, but you may want to put an extra wide washer on each mounting point to keep the bolt from stressing the plastic too much as this is where I've seen some start to crack.
Great, thanks!
The best oil you can get all depends on what deals there are around you area at that time. Like Jdub said, Castrol european formula for 3.xx a quart is a damn good deal and I would have bought them dry ;).
Why do you think I was looking to see if it could be had any cheaper somewhere's else? ;)
BTW, anyone know the life expectancy of one before a replacement filter media needs to be purchased?
Oh I just remebered since there is a recent topic on this. I know you bought this beauty from an old lady who kept it in the garage for most of it's life, but have you checked to see if the engine undertray is still attached? If so, keep an eye on it, they're kinda rare nowadays and the plastic...
Especially if for some reason an unknown object starts touching the line and rubbing/chafing it, causing the metal to flake/fall off into the oil pan... Ouch.
I would like to add full IC hardpipe kit and aftermarket replacement Intercooler with a recirculated BOV to the list of parts to get before upgrading your turbo ;).
What is it that you do exactly Jay? Roofing? Siding? Construction?
The reason I ask is because my dad owns a gutter business with both residential and comercial sized seamless gutter equipment.
:werd: I bought a mint one from too_stand off of ebay a while back because mine wasn't on when I bought it. If I have any spare time this summer I may look into making a metal version for myself, and depending on how much of a hassle it turns out to be, I may make a few others ;).
