Yep, mesh is smart as it protects coolers. Mom's miata has an aftermarket one that has some black coating on it so it's stealth but does it's job of protecting.
Fix the EGR leak (and while it's off, clean the passages out).
Also, did you get the car hot before you took it to be inspected? Catalyst needs to be warm to function correctly.
If you found someone that would weld cast iron you could cut the flanges off both and just weld the adapter straight to the manifold (seen it done with T04 flanges).
Not a lot of people like welding cast iron cause it's not fun...
89 with the surplus pre-89 turbo wing. Also the seat fabric looks to be the 89 stuff. Would need shots of the dash to really know though...
It appears to have a registration or inspection sticker, the VIN should be on it.
The 3 I have are all the large one. 2 are original (one off an 89 and one off a pre-89) and 1 I bought new for the car.
There are 5 different part numbers in the EPC. 3 for turbo and 2 for NA. This is over the years though...
