Rock crawler doesn't have driveshaft speeds that cause catastrophic failure. Also keep in mind the gear ratios in those cars is lower than our cars, so less driveshaft speed.
Heel/toe is only required in corners, it's mainly to stop the sudden deceleration of the rear wheels from just dropping the gear. I have no idea how you guys are doing it in the supra since the gas pedal is so mcuh farther back than the brake...
Well, considering the old GT games where rushed (and it showed, like drag cars without drag racing), I'm all for them taking longer and getting it RIGHT.

The unorthodox pulley is a solid piece, it needs to be a dampener like factory to absorb the harmonics from the crank or it will do bearing damage.
