Thanks everyone for the help. I may have gone slightly above budget, but I think I got a pretty decent tool which hopefully should last many years! It should be a good learning experience as I slowly figure the thing out, and surprisingly the engrish manual is halfway decent.
Well it looks like I need to revive an old thread :D. I had a few other questions regarding oil pressure vs flow.
Question 1:
I hear this tossed around so much on this forum "The 7M has a low pressure high volume oil system"... I just cant wrap my mind around what this means. The bearing...
BTW what version of the Translator Pro are you running? (It will tell you when you first turn the key on). Getting Tunerpro going will make things a lot easier. Unfortunately TurboBob is the best one to help you with this issue, though his responses aren't always quick. Ive been waiting for a...
Try setting vehicle type to 2 and see what happens (edit NVM this probably wont work as this is the setting you use if spark control is wired. Was just comparing to my settings)
In TunerPro, go to File>save bin as, and save the file somplace. Next, create a ZIPPED folder and drag the bin file...
With the crank pulley at 0 the mark on the cam gears should be pointing strait up. Keep in mind, if your pulley is on 0 and you don't see the marks, turn the crank one time and line up with 0 again, they should be pointing strait up.
Hey I watched the vids you posted on Full Throttle Tech. I can't say I know why its doing what it is, but have you pulled engine codes?
The frequency out looks fine to me. My car at curb idle is about 20-30 with 550CC injectors. The mainscale adjustment will directly affect your FO. Higher...
Cant comment on the compatibility of the square plug knock sensor for sure, but seeing as most Toyota knock sensors operate the same, I don't see that as being the problem.
Did you do a continuity check on your wiring? Check for short to ground? Make sure you mess with the harness while checking...
That makes me a little skeptical, how much twist are we actually talking here? They are claiming there is enough twist to alter the cam timing enough to affect horsepower...sounds more like marketing. I haven't done any actual textbook reading on the subject, but from what all the experts around...
Absolutely. Getting it out is easy but back in without a leveler would be a pita (never done it)
You are doing this with the car on the ground? How do you even fit the hoist legs under the car? I prefer putting the whole car up on 4 stands and lift the rear higher than the front.
Some will fit while others will require some modification. Not sure on the Godspeed, but it fits fine with my Koyo, and I know it fits with the newer Mishimoto's (albeit very tight fit).
