I fed up with this Walbro. What would you say about Bosch 044 in tank?

Not saying it would "overheat", but my pump definitely gets louder when the tank is low, and the pump usually gets louder when it is hot. I could see a low fuel level causing the pump to run hotter for only a couple reasons, first being the pump is no longer surrounded by cool fuel, fuel is only...

    Wideband ?

Read the instructions with your wideband and follow that. It will read accurate at the elbow or further down, but the sensor life is sacrificed if you put it too close to the turbo (too much heat).

    Hose heat protection question

Hm, wouldn't you WANT the fitting to transfer heat faster? That way it releases the heat to the air before it reaches the hose? They are all going to reach the engine temperature eventually at the base of the fitting where it is bolted to the engine, but if it can release the heat faster that...

    Overheating issues

When it blows 40 degrees, I am in heaven.... the problem is that it takes about an hour to get there. And don't you dare make a stop at the gas station or those temps are going to take another 20 mins to achieve. If I jump in my car that has been outside, turn the ac on, and drive around town...

    Overheating issues

LOL... If the evap is not functioning properly aka not getting cold, it can only absorb x BTU's, so if its on low blower or high blower, its only absorbing the same x amount of BTU's, so with more air volume the temp drop isn't as great, right (larger volume of air dropping the same BTU's =...

    Overheating issues

I did see ~40 degree vent temps after a lot of driving on the highway with the blower on medium and the vent on recirc, if the blower is on high I never saw anything below 45 deg at the vents no matter how long I drove, and it was around 50 deg for a long time before coming down past that. My...

    Overheating issues

It was at about 143 degrees at the receiver according to my IR gun IIRC at about 275 PSI high side, which is about 20 degrees of subcooling. Seems a little high if I am not mistaken. IBAS I am pretty sure the TXV has an adjustment inside the inlet, but that requires discharging the system and...

    Overheating issues

So the higher the delta p the lower the temperature? So my system should be working better at 275 head pressure/28 low pressure than it would at the specified 210 head pressure/25 low pressure? Only problem is it doesn't, and the evap is definitely not reaching 26 degrees.

    Overheating issues

Tested again with the car nice and warm, high blower, recirc, windows open etc ambient around 100 and in the shade High side: 275 Low side: 28 Vent: 58 No bubbles I see what you are saying about the pressure temp relationship, but the evap is at around 28 psi and is not getting cold. When on...

    Overheating issues

It does strike me as strange... but its exactly what I was experiencing before! High superheat. My high side pressure is WAY out of spec also... 265 PSI when it should be no greater than 210 PSI. Maybe this high high side pressure is causing the weirdness on the low side (I am not sure how high...

    Overheating issues

I just put the gauges on it, keep in mind this is with a relatively cool car and it is night time, with OAT between 90 and 100. Low PSI: ~25 High PSI: ~265 Vent: ~59 deg RPM: 1500 Fan: High Mode: Recirc Windows open Funny how the TSRM gives no mention of what vent temps should be. I know...

    Overheating issues

This is the problem, I have never seen/felt that for myself. What I have seen for myself is other Supras which have AC as bad as mine. All I know is that people tell me it should work better than it is, yet I have no proof that it actually can. Arizona Mobile Air, basically one of the most well...

    Overheating issues

I hear ya, I realize the old Supra has its limitations, but 70 degrees at idle out the vents is kind of depressing. You are from Houston, you probably know as well as I do that 70 degree air isn't going to do crap when you have 105+ air outside plus full sun. Blower motor pushes enough air...

    Overheating issues

Haven't had much time, so I haven't. Plus I am going out to California for a bit where it should actually work decently well, hopefully I wont really be concerned about it over there. If I've got time I will put the gauges on it when it's really hot out and not blowing cold and report back. My...

    Overheating issues

Wow this thing really blows ass! I wish there was an edit>undo button for expensive parts purchased. After coming out to my heatsoaked car I went to the drive through and waited about 10 mins for some food blowing 65-70 deg F on medium fan at idle...meanwhile all these losers relaxing in their...

    Overheating issues

Ya it held a little more than 29" overnight just fine. They pulled a vacuum on it again before charging it. I guess that is that then. I really need to face reality and get a summer car or something, daily driving the Supra out here in the summer really isn't working out like I had planned...
