So you're basicly looking at an AK-74. It's a smaller high velocity round that was developed because of pressure (i.e. the Americans use a small high velocity round, why don't we?).
In this case, he's better off rigging the snout. If you're going to pull the engine and replace bearings and crank only to do it over again soon it's a waste of time/money.
Can't be, I don't see a stripper pole
Damn, there's some serious hardware in that place (if it's all real).
- M79 "Thumper"
- M2 .50 cal
- AT4 anti-tank
- HK PSG-1
I have another headlight project that I've put on hold because I don't have the skills to pull it off. Plus, it requires some work on the installer's part that takes it firmly away from being "bolt on." Projector retrofit I could do quite easily if I find the correct housings.
It sounds like you want to pull the crank witht he rods and pistons out of the bottom of the GTE block and put them into the GE block. Lots of issues with that:
- Pistons won't come out the bottom
- All the bearings are select fit, putting them in a different block will throw off tolerances...
MAP ECU doesn't have timing control, it's a piggyback fuel controller and MAP translator. As such, you won't be able to properly tune around the loss of EGR. MAP ECU 2 can be made to to tune timing as well, but you're making a lot more work for yourself.
Why are you removing EGR?
Wire into ground instead of positive? IIRC the dimmer runs off the ground circuit and it causes issues with some electronics (had an issue with a headunit once before).
"I did it and it's fine" doesn't fly here. The ECU is tuned for the EGR to be there. Under part throttle load you run the risk of detonation from the advanced timing and lean condition (as it's expecting inert exhaust gasses to be there). It lowers EGT's as well.
You have 4 options:

It's older than the Supra, so don't expect it to be less of a project.
Age = more parts worn
Age = parts are more rare
Parts more rare = expensive
You're steering away from a civic, but a 90's cvic can be had for cheap, and the same reason the ricer kids love them is why they make great...
- Stock ECU is tuned for EGR (and no, it doesn't give you more power to remove it).
- Fuel pressure VSV helps on hot starts (the one time it doesn't start because you deleted it you're going to hate yourself).
- Power steering idle up valve missing might be an issue if you don't give it a...
