Doesn't have the grooves (doesn't need thims since the other parts that they're up against have grooves already) and is also made of a less brittle metal (stock is sintered metal, very very hard, but brittle)
Interesting that they're that expensive and all plastic. Though plastic tends to be better for projectors (doesn't distort the beam pattern so the the cutoff stays sharp), it's also less durable.

Not required if the flange and sections are reassembled in the same orientation they were originally (also important because you could put the u-joints out a phase).
Parts are ordered, just gotta find which housings will be easiest to work with. Apparently some of the ebay housings are epoxied together instead of using a hot melt glue, meaning they'll have to be cut apart instead of baked apart (not good).
You know you're dealing with a loser when they think having a criminal record is cool. Also, I'm not a big sound guy and even I know MB Quart. Also, I had to laugh at the Lightning Audio, they're as bad as Sony's stuff these days (all highs, no lows).

Polycarbonite would be best, but it's difficult to work with. It absorbs water, so you have to dry it (or you get bubbles caused from steam) and it tends to stick to molds.
I imagine it wouldn't be hard to make one, it's just getting it to last from the sun beating on it. I don't think...
