I work for a major fabrication shop here in west central Florida. We have a laser cutter. Give me some more info like material used and what not and I should be able to get it done for probably just the cost of material.
Speeking of where I work, Although we dont do anything for automotive...
there are two if's. first as mentioned before, if you can do all the work and sell it for a profit (including covering your time invested) then yes, or if you really, really want it.
not the early 1uz heads....... They are the worst. The 98 and later or the 3uz or the stock 2uz heads would be far better.
Tid-bit of info, the stock VVT-i and 2uz non-VVT-i heads outflow a well ported set of early 1uz heads.
Show me a 2JZGE (especially stock) that makes 250 to 260ft/lb tq, and makes 200ft/lb tq or better form about 1500RPM's all the way to redline, and weighs the same as a 1UZ and then you can call it junk....
The 1uz makes roughly the same HP and TQ as a stock 7M-GTE and weighs quite a bit less...
Ofcourse, there will be pics.....
I know, I have not been updating my build thread incase anyone has been checking, but well thats because there has not been any updates since the last time I posted. To many other things going on and the whole build / swap and been put on the back burner for...
Yeah, I have a 17x7 in the hatch with a 225-45-17 on it as a spare. Have to cause I'd be F'ed if a front tire ever blew out being that I have a BBK and the stock spare would not clear it.
Fully ducting from facia opening to radiator would be the best thing.
This is exactly what I am doing X3... One for the condensor and radiator and one for each I/C on each side.
Yes, twin I/C's for the twin turbos on the V8 set up on the sides behind fog light opening (no fog lights)...
My question, besides from a styling aspect, why would you want one on our cars? I dont see any functional bennifit of having one on an MKIII being that on our cars, the hood seals against the radiator core support. I am just curious of the purpose of one besides styling being that the hood on...
Honestly, hand lapping the deck or the head is not the greatest of ideas. Although some have sucessfully hand lapped decks and heads, there is a very good chance that you will create a wavy surface cause it is for-one, hard to apply even and constant pressure at all times and the other thing is...
First off, anyone could build a 700hp. 7m, but that doesn't mean that it is going to last.
IT IS NOT THE COOLER. YOU BUILDER IS WRONG......
Sorry for yelling.......
Like Ian said and many others including myself, the cooler has the T-stat built into it.
As for reading the pressure...
yeah possibly a bad clutch, but you should be able to ease the clutch out in 1st with no gas and the car should start to roll. Now if you can in 3rd, then yes deffinitly a slipping clutch.
It could very well be a fuel / tuning issue also. You are more likely to notice clutch slippage issues...
Just as Jet stated, letting it idle is bad, but the whole part of warming up is true for all motors, not just turbo's. By the statement of letting it warm up, you should drive the car easily and if its a manual trans, shift it at about or just over 2500rpm's until it is up to operating temp. The...
most likely your whole problem stems from the oil leak incident.
The time line adds up perfectely.
Engine, roughly 3000km's, oil leak happens at roughly 1500km's and according to your first post you have had a low oil pressure problem for roughly the last 1500km's, so therefore the leak...
Yes, it does seem that it is hooked up correctly just the wording can seem contradictive because I am referancing it as mounted in an RX-7 and my car alike and that is with the ports on the left hand side where his on upside down with the ports on the right hand side so top and bottom are...
