Installed new targa seals and washed the car no leaks except for when I open the door water drips down where the pillar and targa meet at the front I guess that is just how it is or do you guys know a way to sort direct the water down the rail? I also fixed my suspension clunk it was the sway...
I was right it was the sway bar end link I installed Moog replacements and the sound went away but one nut fucked the threads on one end link, so for now I got one Moog and one stock that is still good until I get a replacement part.
I re-lubed the lower ball joints and it still clunks I think it's my sway bar end links because it clunks when the body shifts to one side as I go up or down an incline and I do that at an angle since my car is lowered. Maybe over time doing it at an angle with factory sway bars and end links...
My mk3 has started making a knock sound when I turn left, not full lock at all, or when I am going up or down an incline at an angle it knocks once or twice feels like it's from the front left. I figure it's a ball joint but I can't tell which one it is since they look fine and I was wiggling...
Yea I got the bottom mount on correctly the top mount is the one I need help with lol. I just got back from California, so I am going to mess with it tomorrow.
That is for the vertical mount right? I was thinking about that too I'll have to check again to see if it lines up where I can get a bolt through. The bottom mount fits perfectly with a bolt hole on the chassis so that one has to be for the bottom of the intercooler.
my ebay DDP is open dumb it sounds mean on start up but when cruising it's not that loud imo I look forward to days where it's not so hot I can roll the windows down and just listen to the exhaust. At highway cruising speeds it doesn't bother me at all I can barely hear my exhaust over the music.
That's why I thought the DDP is beneficial because it keeps the flow consistent for the exhaust and wastegate and doesn't clash together and cause turbulence
No I had the stock intercoler lol this is a real Spearco intercooler but the brackets were made for a pre-89 I was able to still use the bottom bracket but not the top bracket. I added support to the bottom until I can figure out how to make a bracket for the top. I haven't dyno'd it yet but...
That is what I was trying to do but I could not get it to line up the bracket is too long. I just have to custom make something with L brackets or whatever.
yea that is what confused me the most like it's made for a MK3 it shouldn't be so difficult but then I found out it was installed on an 87, so I figure the center bracket was part of the changes they made between pre-89 and 89+.
That is how the previous owner had it installed and if I keep it on that way I can't get it high enough to mount the bottom bracket because the top bracket hits the two heat sinks that run along the nose piece.
