    The Small Questions Thread

Looking to get some information on the big block chevy valve springs. I currently have them installed and have been running them for about 4 years now but upgraded to a large turbo. Since its bigger I'll need to Rev a little higher since full boost comes on later. Having a hard time finding...

    Chunks' Build

I did find a video clip of a quick drive by. This is with the obx muffler and vibrant resonator with slight acceleration at the beginning and cruising at the end http://s600.photobucket.com/user/sheedy126/media/Supra/IMG_2263_zpsuffy3bwl.mp4.html Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk

The aero turbine muffler definitely was the opposite of quiet but I've been really happy with the obx and vibrant combo. It really cut down on the droning and gave it a little quieter yet deeper tone. When up to speed and cruising, It's a very smooth/quiet sound. I had a sound clip somewhere...

    Chunks' Build

Yep I has them placed just like that. The resonator was only able to fit right in front of the rear diff near yhe driveshaft "bar". I now run a obx greddy Evo 2 replica muffler and is very quiet Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk

    Chunks' Build

I've had good luck with the vibrant ultra quiet resonator. Even with the 4" aero turbine muffler I was running, it knocked down a lot of the droning in the car Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk

    Sheedy Built Supra

Decided to tear into it today. This is as far as I got. #3 rod bearing spun. Why? I have no idea. Well, time for build 2. This time, it's time to get serious with some good internals Organization is key. Label every little bolt in a bag. Makes for quick assembly later on. Sent from my...

    Sheedy Built Supra

Most likely in the next week. I've got some other things I need to get done today before work tomorrow. Hopefully this new job comes up local and I'll be able to get have some more car funds. If that's the case, I will do a rebuild with pistons and rods Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk

I hope it all goes well too! I've been real happy with the drain valve. I've never had an issue with it leaking or the valve opening at any time. I don't have the optional safety clip on although it's a good idea. If you're worried about hitting it on a bump, the pan barley hits first. Engine...

    The Small Questions Thread

Quick question and I'm not sure if I'm able to do this or not. I rebuilt my 7mgte 20k~ miles ago and need to replace rod bearings and possibly mains too. Is it possible to pull the crank without pulling the rear timing cover? If not, am I able to run a new MHG without having the block or head...

    Sheedy Built Supra

Well, tomorrow I'm pulling the engine then pulling the pan to inspect the bearings. I'm hoping I can pull the crank and get main, rod, and thrust bearings. I caught this so early and I wasn't in boost, just slow driving that I hope I can get away with just bearings. Sent from my SPH-L720T using...

Are you talking about the crank pulley bolt? It's standard right have thread so it unscrews to the left. To break it loose I put the car in 5th, had someone stand on the brakes, then busted it loose with a 4 ft breaker bar. Broke loose pretty easy Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk

Timing belt is on and ready to go. I took out the ac compressor and tensioner since I don't have any wires ran currently. I also cleaned up the greasy mess on the plate behind the crank pulley I'm waiting to put the distributor in until after I replace the thermostat housing/neck with the new...

    Red Supra build 500~WHP

That looks to be the older style manifold design. It works but the turbo sits so far back that a downpipe is hard to clear. I mean it's doable, I ran it awhile back but just keep the clearance issue in mind. Other than that it's looking good Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk

The other blanket I used did the same thing. Oh well it wasn't too expensive and seems to knock down the heat a bunch. Timing belt and distributor are scheduled to be delivered today. I'll get that on and go from there. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
