Would lock-tite even hold up to the temperature? My bolts were perfectly fine, so I think I am good there. Just waiting on the parts to come in still I hope they come in today.
I don't think installing the gasket the wrong way will be a problem it tapers on one end lol unless you have to have a certain side facing the head or something like that.
Took all damn day and a tool run but I finally got it off. I jacked up the tranny as much as I could and figured out to remove the charcoal canister and just remove all of the bolts from the exhaust side and it went smooth as silk after that. At least now I know how to do this job much quicker...
Went to a supra, RX7, NSX, and skyline meet that our local club organized and on the way to getting dinner my EGR cooler gasket completely blew and melted a hole in the 90 degree coolant hose that runs right by it. Had to stop to top off the coolant before we got to dinner and after we ate I got...
Thanks man, I ordered the OEM gasket and hose, so once those come in I'll be tackling this. So will jacking up the trans not put any stress on anything else like the motor mounts, harness, etc. or will it not move the motor enough to do any harm?
I need to replace my EGR cooler gasket but don't have time to remove the head or motor. I remember reading before that you can do it by jacking up the transmission to tilt the motor forward. What do I need to do that?
I'd be worried too seeing stuff like that usually when I see blocks for MHG they are completely smooth. I'd ask your machine shop if that will affect it or not.
I followed this guide when I got new targa seals all around and used a lot of clear RTV silicone and figured out to use a generous amount where the targa and drip rail meet enough to where it would come through the top side of the targa in the drip rail and just wiped off the excess. No leaks...
FINALLY DONE!! Took me all damn night because I went full retard a few times and had to problem solve like grind off a little bit of metal here and there but overall it was a pretty easy install. If anyone goes with this setup you do have to cut a few threads off of the stock cobra brake banjo...
Installing my Cobra brakes finally; of course, some little issues came up had to grind down a part of the bracket to clear the rotor then there was an hour I wasted thinking I needed to find the banjo bolt but turns out the brakes came with them still in the stock lines in the box they came in...
Yea I laughed when I picked up the new plates at the DMV the lady looked at me confused lol. The front end needs work there is a scuff and a sort of puncture from the previous owner and the paint is dull.
It's easy to see dirty spots on white but you are right it is worse on black lol. Thanks I wish the front wasn't scuffed and dull but in due time I'll replace the bumper and probably repaint the entire car the same color.
