Huh....kinda like a sporty 2-door cressida. Thanks for the pic Grim. Think I'll stick with the supra nose tho.... How do they do it on the FD's? Are the head lights on a steeper angle or something?
Maybe a slight bulge in the lexan like the C5R corvette race car. I really hate pop ups. Do you have any pics of a soarer? I feel kinda stupid, but I don't think I have ever seen one.
Yeah. Bottom line is the shop f'd up. I was just curious to see how much better, if at all, the n/a cams are- either dyno charts or lift/duration specs.
Absolutely right, it has gotten out of hand. Sorry gmoney for the clutter. The stock bottom end (crank and rods) on the GTE's are pretty much bullet proof. They will hold 400-500whp all day long. MHG, Pistons+rings, and of course new bearings should do it. Also the drivetrain is very stout. I've...
Sounds like it. I had a real bad misfire and it turned out to be the wire harness that goes to the coils. I removed the insulating sleeve and the insulation on a few of the wires was badly cracked. I put shrink tubing on all of the individual wires and the misfire disappeared. Thats the problem...
Vacuum sounds right, as for boost...dunno.....is there a gain setting on your profec? If so, try messing with that. I forget which way it goes but if it is too far one way it will spike and then drop, too far the other way and it will surge and vary.
You are absolutely right, first hand experience does speak for itself. I am trying to help people so that they don't make the same mistakes that I did. You dont need to spend that much money to get in the 12's, but you eventually will if you keep replacing stock HG's. Did Juhanis put another...
They supposedly have a hotter grind (at least the intake anyway, I heard that the exhaust cams are the same), but I havent been able to find any specs. I bought them because my exhaust cam got wiped out after the first shim incident. I found the pair on ebay for $100. I think they gave more...
Trust me, running mid 12's is never as easy as one might think. As you mentioned, you will definately need to upgrade your turbo. The stock ct-26 runs out of breath at around 14 psi. You can turn the boost up all you want, but you just make heat, not power. This causes detonation which makes the...
Yeah I had the n/a cams in then. I had the head redone because I had a shim break and it wedged the #3 front exhaust valve open. It looked to me like the shim came out first and then got smashed by the cam and broke. The guy at the shop told me that the shim probably broke first and then came...
see if the cam gear index marks are lined up. there is a mark on each cam gear and marks on the metal plate behind the cam gears. With #1 tdc on the compression stroke ( look in the oil fill hole- if you can see the front lobe on the intake cam pointing up, it is compression. otherwise it is...
