    How reliable is the 7mgte?

I suppose if financial hardship is worth having something not everyone else does (keep in mind it will still be a crappy 25 year old Toyota) then go for it, but you are in for a surprise. Is this your first project car? Keep in mind that any amount of money that you can even imagine that you...

Street tuning a MAPECU, which gear should I be in?

The ECU is going to shoot for around 14.7 if you are in closed loop, any corrections you make here are going to be counteracted by the ECU, once load gets high enough it will switch to open loop and stop correcting according to the o2 sensor. The ECU doesn't know pressure only airflow/tps and...

    OIL causing high idle?

I believe the oil pressure reading does have an impact on idle speed albeit very little. The oil pressure sensor puts out a frequency signal so you will want to measure it in hertz. You can also use a test light to verify the sensors operation, but since your gauge is working it seems unlikely...

    Turbo oil lines

He is saying he wants to replace the engine block oil drain flange studs with bolts so that the feed/drain pipe can be easily removed and reinstalled without having to loosen or undo the turbo. Because the turbo side and the block side have studs he is saying it is making it difficult to remove...

    Aeromotive FPR dropping pressure

Walbro 255 and Aeromotive FPR pressure bleeds off within an hour or two. I figure it is the regulator since they state it is normal for pressure to bleed off as quoted in OPs post. Unfortunately I have no lines that I can easily clamp off on the supply side or the return side, but if you do it...

    Having fuel level issues

With the level sender connector unplugged and key on you should have battery voltage on the blue/red wire and ground on the brown. Make sure you have this.

DIY: R-12 to R-134a Conversion (How To)

PF condenser will work well with R12 refrigerant and improve performance. I have a PF condenser from American Condensers plus a large Spal pusher fan in my Supra running R12 and it has been working well. http://www.ackits.com/c/Parallel/Parallel+Flow+Condensers+-+Aluminum.html "When...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

My Denso drier from Toyota looked identical, nothing wrong with it.

    Really Stupid Coolant Issue.

They aren't TTY and they can be reused. Now you just look like an ass.

Need some tutoring on an oscilloscope purchase

That actually makes a lot of sense. I will dig around the manual, maybe there's a way to manually reduce the sampling rate.

DIY: R-12 to R-134a Conversion (How To)

Nice work man. Not sure if you mean R12 or freeze 12 Blue, they are two completely different refrigerants. Highly recommend you do some research on freeze 12 before using it, I bet if you do research it you wouldn't use it.

Need some tutoring on an oscilloscope purchase

Just spent some time sifting through the menus, but I cant seem to find any way to monitor the current sample rate, is there some other way about doing this? All I know about the sample rate is that it has an advertised sample rate of 500MSa/S

    Few simple Lexus AFM questions

OK. The purpose of the video is to display the issue I am having with the scope not how to test an o2 sensor. Only issue I am concerned with in the video is why my scope gets laggy as time per division is increased. How can this be remedied?

    Few simple Lexus AFM questions

How/why do you know that information then? Were you not "over thinking it" at the time you acquired that knowledge? Isn't knowing how it works kind of essential to being able to work on it/fix it? Anyhow thanks for that information. Also on the topic of the scope, can you take a look at this...

    Few simple Lexus AFM questions

The only part I don't get is why the dwell would be higher on one side than the other if the ECU has the ability to make them equal. For instance if you have an air leak, momentarily the O2 sensor would read a low voltage, but as the trims come up to compensate and the ECU is able to get the...

    Few simple Lexus AFM questions

I considered this as well, but if the ECU was able to get the mixture above and below 14.7 within its trim, why would the average be anything other than 14.7?

    Few simple Lexus AFM questions

Lol let me simplify my original question. If the O2 sensor must be richer than 14.7 to give a high reading (o2 demand), and leaner than 14.7 to give a low reading (o2 excess), how can the ecu "cross count" without ever having gone leaner than 14.7? My case is pretty simple, my wideband shows...

    Few simple Lexus AFM questions

Ok well that is consistent with any other sensor on the entire vehicle, it's not like the coolant temp sensor tells the computer a temperature or the oil pressure sensor tells it the oil pressure in psi, all sensors feed the computer a signal that has to be compared to a calibration and...

    Few simple Lexus AFM questions

That's interesting, I was under the impression that the ECU would only cross count if it was able to reach stoich within its fuel trim correction. In my case with engine speed increased to 2500 my VF (showing trim without T/E1 jumped) is 2-3v and wideband shows cross counting, but you are saying...

    Few simple Lexus AFM questions

Random question...If my wideband shows air fuel switching back and forth between 14.2:1 and 14.5:1 with engine speed increased, is it safe to assume my wideband is incorrect, considering the engine will only switch back and forth above and below 14.7:1 which is a product of the zirconium sensor...
