OP,no there are not any tie rods in the rear of a supra. Tie rods are connected to a power steering rack. Advance cannot help you here, call toyota with the part number everyone keeps saying.
Wherever you decide to get a sensor, buy a Denso brand one.
On these cars, the o2 has to be pretty much dead to set a code, so you'll likely notice a change for the better once its replaced.
There are special tools for the job, but they often damage the threaded part of the ball joint. And can be a pain to get them where you need them.
Search for "Alltrade 648626" I am not sure which one would work, but with a good kit like that, you can usually get the job done.

Check out the condition of the bulb holder sockets. Its common for corrosion to build up in there, causing all kinds of issues.
Toyota still has complete taillight harnesses. Or bulb socket pigtails, can be soldered in(if in poor condition).
And what does the voltage do, as you open the throttle?
VTA should start at about 1V and slowly raise as you open the throttle.
IDL is a swich and should show either 0V or 5V.
May be looking at the wrong pin.
Timing cant be set correctly, with that code stored.
What is the voltage of IDL pin with the throttle closed?
Also, some timing lights, with electronic advance function have special ways of checking timing on a waste spark system.
Does the timing look like its at 20iish with the light set to 0*

You mentioned when you jack up the rear of the car, you can turn the wheels. Thats because there is a differential in the rear end. Could you turn the driveshaft? (it runs front to back)
