    Question about Apexi NEO

Well, it may be possible for 500RWHP without a standalone, but you'll probably spend as much without. FCD is just a bad idea. Period. With the Neo and a Lexus AFM, you should be able to run 680cc fuel injectors, which is enough fuel to get you there. (The Neo by itself isn't enough, nor is the...

    egr block off plates

Where the orange circle is is fine. No block needed there, since it only exits to the side of the head. The one where the red circle is is where the exhaust gas enters the EGR cooler area. It needs to be blocked, or else it's an exhaust leak. The port where the EGR would enter the intake...

Metal Head Gasket and Torque Specs

FWIW, I ran a Toyota stock HG with ARP studs in my '89. (Didn't get the block decked, but I did have the head surfaced appropriately.) I ran that on a stock turbo at 13PSI for one year and a 60-1 turbo at 18 PSI for 2 years. Spearco replica IC, Lexus/550s, Aeromotive AFPR. 1987 TCCS, no tuning...

How to know if car is a "Lucky Dip" Supra?

Okay, I have a 10/88 production year '89. That should be the same as yours in terms of swap compatability. It had a grey plug harness on the 7M-GE. I swapped in the engine, transmission, engine harness and ECU from a 1987 yellow plug car with only very minor issues. '89 is its own special year...

    Question about Apexi NEO

Well, the Neo adjusts the AFM output, so... Sort of. You can't get rid of it, and I would advise against making large adjustments to the AFM output with stock injectors, but the 7M is known to run very rich, so there's probably room to raise FCO by a bit. I would not do so without supporting...

    A special case

The 7M block has 3 bosses for knock sensors. The GE block has the center one tapped, the GTE block has the front and rear ones tapped, but all 3 bosses exist on all of the blocks. Knock sensors are essentially microphones. The ECU "listens" for frequencies that happen when knock occurs, and if...

How to know if car is a "Lucky Dip" Supra?

All that production year tells me is that it's an '89, and not an '89.5. The biggest difference that means is that if you do a 1JZ swap into it, you'll need the pre-89 motor mount adapters, instead of the JZA70 motor mounts. (Or, if you're buying motor mounts, you need the square ones, and not...

    Where do these plugs go?

One ground to the intake manifold, I remember one going to a transmission mount bolt. IIRC, the same one that holds the clutch hydraulic line.

    Where do these plugs go?

3 sensors. One in each front hub, and the third is on the tail of the transmission, on the left hand side of the car, right near the driveshaft yoke. Because ABS is an option, not all transmissions will have the sensors.

need help identifying a single wire for the head unit area

Well, you could look at the Radio and tape Player section of the TEWD You may also want to check the auto antenna and illumination sections as well as they also deal with wires going to the head unit. Is the connector still on it? That would go a long ways towards identifying it, since all of...

    Hg thickness how thick

Stock bore is 83mm. .020 over is 83.5mm. .040 over is 84mm. An 84mm bore hg is good for up to .040 over. You still want as much material as you can have between the cylinders, as there's not a lot of extra to begin with. The 84mm bore leaves a bit of extra, but not too much.

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

It would have been easier if I had bought them in the first place. I didn't, and the extra $1.49 spent on a couple of ceramic resistors is still cheaper. The lesson here for the reader is partially about the solution to the problem, and partly about avoiding the problem in the first place. I'll...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Built this little device The problem: My LED gauge lights keep burning out. They're cheap eBay 194/74 lamps, so the regulation on the lamp is clearly inadequate. The dimmer rheostat on my car is burnt out. I have 2 good ones, but someone's done something with the wiring, and I know from...

    Where do these plugs go?

There are 2 sets of connectors on the reverse switch, one being right next to ABS. EGR temp is only California cars, I don't think the connector exists on non California wiring harnesses.

    Godspeed turbo Kit

Cheap and reliable? Uh... Remember the addage. Cheap, fast, reliable. Pick 2. Seems to me that cheaper would be: Used CT26 $150-$200 in decent condition, no shaft play. Used 7M-GTE exhaust manifold $50-$100 Intercooler, piping, BOV $425. 7M-GTE downpipe/elbow $200 Well, you'd need to do...

    Power steering reservoir relocating

Getting OT, but whatever. In my case, a bad tow job hit my PS rack, so it leaked fluid really bad. At the time, the Supra was the only running car that I had, so yes. I drove it with no fluid in the system. Actually, I removed the PS belt after about a day, and ran it that way for the better...

    replacement clutch brand ideas

+1. The stock clutch will take what the 7M-GE will throw at it, and last a good long time with nice engagement.

    Power steering reservoir relocating

You can drive an A70 just fine without power steering. Parallel parking it is another story, but I've done that, too. If it's bad enough to CRUSH the reservoir, then it's probably done other damage that's more likely to make it undriveable. I'm not much of a bling person, I will take...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

The oil pipe isn't so bad if you remove the lower IC pipe, the downpipe and the turbo elbow. There are some things that I swear I can hear the sound of some Japanese engineer laughing at me all the way from the other side of the Pacific ocean.

    Power steering reservoir relocating

5/8" line for feed to the pump. No problem with height, since the pump will suck it in, it's not open to air. 3/8" line for the return from the rack. I've got to relocate mine, since the 4" inlet of my turbo won't allow for stock location.
