    Another clutch problem thread..

I might give that a try. I'm wondering if a SS clutch line would help at all too, although I can't see the rubber line swelling as it is.. I really think the disc has a little bit too much runout in one are (IE-it's bent). It looks like one pad and about half of another one are the ones...

    Another clutch problem thread..

I talked to the manufacturer. They pretty much just told me to try and get more travel out of the slave cylinder. I have tried adjusting the rod on the slave out quite a few turns to where it had no slack at all and it didn't help. The only other way I can think to get more travel would be...

    Where did the oil go?

Damn! I was going to say you had BHG and it was leaking into the coolant system.. But I figured that'd count as a leak because if the coolant was filling up with oil, something would have to leak somewhere...

OK, it's something with the disc... Just put the new disk back in and it's the same story..I can get it into all gears (but I assume thats because the driveshaft isn't connected) and it grinds reverse.. Only guess I have is the disc has excessive runout.. AHHHHH! :: angry ::

    Another clutch problem thread..

I just got off the phone with Action, he said the thickness for the disc is 8.13mm with the marcel springs compressed. I just went and compressed the disc and it is about the same- 8.1-2mm.. ugh..

    Another clutch problem thread..

I tightened the PP bolts down in increments. Tighten one a little bit, turn flywheel, tighten, turn, tighten, turn, etc...until the pp was fully seated against the flywheel. When I put the clutch in before I did it out of the car so I actually tightened and torqued it in a star pattern, and...

    Another clutch problem thread..

Yea I don't know what it could be. I marked the flywheel and pressure plate before I took it apart and put it back together in the same place. Release bearing was put together right. And like I said, the real only noticeable differences between the stock disc and the new one are the new one...

    Another clutch problem thread..

OK, just put the new pressure plate back in with the old disc and it works FINE. Shifts into every gear without problems. Slave cylinder travel looks to be about 1/2 inch. Does this sound right to anyone? I didn't have the driveshaft connected but this wouldnt matter would it? What gives?

Car overheating and radiator light on

Something else...Have you looked at the under side of the oil cap to see if there's a milkshake on it? Or maybe try smelling the coolant overflow tank and see if it smells like exhaust....mine did. Milkshake on the dipstick or under the cap, white smoke blowing from the exhaust, boiling/losing...

    Another clutch problem thread..

I guess it wouldn't be that bad. I'd just have to put a few bolts in the trans(NOT the top two MFers) and put the starter on, trans. crossmember and see if it does it with the stock disc. If it does then I'll know its the hydraulics..

That thought had crossed my mind, just don't know if I want to do 2 more trans jobs.. I'll think it over but might end up doing that..

This ones to close to call....

Supra probably BHG'd which caused the rear tires to lose traction... :biglaugh: Nice save though. I for sure would need an underwear change..

    Another clutch problem thread..

The car hasn't been driven yet, the mark on the flywheel is just from sitting with the engine running and pushing the clutch in to shift into gear, except for it wont go. I thought the same thing as you which is why I checked the flywheel flatness. The disc spins freely on the flywheel without...

    Another clutch problem thread..

I measured the disc and it is about 2mm thicker than the old worn out disc. The only thickness spec I found is for rivet depth. I guess I'll just stick it back together and do what you suggested with a come-along and see if I can get it to release like it should. Maybe the hydraulics did go bad.

    Another clutch problem thread..

Dunno what could be causing that. Both the flywheel and pressure plate surfaces are completely flat according to my straight edge. Wonder if it could be my slave cylinder but it's not leaking and I don't think it would go bad just from sitting for a month or so. And Like I said, I can see the...

    Another clutch problem thread..

Dropped the trans. Haven't really found anything wrong. As far as I can tell I assembled the release hub correctly but here are some pics and if anyone wants to chime in please do. Kind of hard to tell from the pics but the thrust cone spring has the large end facing the bearing. Now...
