Yea, I couldn't pass it up for the price! I had looked at several and this one was the best by a mile. I don't really think I'm brave enough to own one either...it sits in the garage most of the time and i drive the Supra lol. I'm afraid something is going to break! O_O Well, plus 11MPG...

Test your EGR system the way it is outlined in the TSRM. Make sure the EGR valve isn't clogged (apply manifold vacuum directly to the EGR valve, and see if the engine dies) and check that the EGR VSV is functioning (remove it and apply 12V to the plug terminals, it should click, if it doesn't...

About $500 for a basic rebuild... Are you sure your problem lies with the turbo? Would suck to spend a bunch of money fixing it, when that's not the problem.
